Lab Assistant

Lab Assistant Job Description The Lab Assistant will be responsible for taking samples of Soy and Wheat plants and tissues for DNA analysis according to internal research protocols. This role requires a high attention to detail and the ability to meet established metrics for tasks. The Lab Assistant will also maintain facility cleanliness and adhere to safety standards. Additional duties may include working with plants growing in the chamber facility. Responsibilities

Work Environment The Lab Assistant will work in a large, climate-controlled facility featuring 32 growth chambers for soybean plants. The environment is maintained at 80-85 degrees and sunny, requiring comfort working in warm conditions. The role involves standing for 8 hours a day and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, with repetitive motion tasks using tweezers. The dress code is casual, including jeans, work-appropriate shirts, and close-toed shoes. This is an open-ended long-term contract opportunity, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, amounting to 35-40 hours per week. Weekend work is expected two out of every five weeks, with shifts from 9 AM to 1 PM. If working on the weekend, a day off during the week is provided. The manager collaborates with employees to schedule weekend shifts in advance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
