Sr Electrical Drafter

Job Title: Electrical Designer / Drafter Job Description
This role supports a large-scale power generation and data center infrastructure project by creating, updating, and maintaining electrical schematics and documentation for critical power systems. You will work closely with electrical engineers to ensure drawing accuracy, incorporate engineering redlines, and maintain strict documentation control throughout an active construction and expansion effort. The position offers high visibility, a fast-paced environment, and the opportunity to contribute to one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and modify electrical schematics and drawings for power generation, distribution, and data center infrastructure systems.
- Work closely with electrical engineers to translate design concepts into accurate and detailed electrical drawings.
- Interpret engineering redlines and incorporate revisions into controlled drawings while maintaining version integrity.
- Maintain accurate and organized electrical documentation, ensuring consistency and compliance with project standards.
- Support critical power systems, including power plants, substations, utilities, transmission and distribution, and other high-power applications.
- Update electrical documentation to reflect design changes, field modifications, and ongoing construction activities.
- Manage multiple drawing revisions simultaneously and ensure timely delivery of updated documentation.
- Collaborate directly with engineers, project teams, and field personnel to clarify design intent and resolve documentation issues.
- Ensure drawing control processes are followed during construction and expansion phases to support reliable project execution.
- Work independently with minimal training, quickly adapting to a fast-paced and evolving project environment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience creating and modifying electrical schematics and electrical drawings.
- Minimum 6 years of experience with electrical drafting in power generation, utilities, industrial manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical drafting and updating electrical documentation.
- Experience working with power distribution systems, utilities, substations, transmission, power plants, or large industrial facilities.
- Experience with high voltage systems and electrical infrastructure in industrial or utility environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering redlines and accurately incorporate revisions into controlled drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation control and drawing accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal training and quickly become productive.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with engineers and field personnel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting data center electrical systems and critical power infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design tools.
- Background in high-power, high-voltage environments such as power plants, substations, or large industrial facilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment where contributions have immediate impact.

Work Environment
This is an onsite role in the Southaven, MS / Greater Memphis area within a collaborative engineering environment. You will work in a fast-paced project atmosphere with aggressive schedules and an expected workload of approximately 50–60 hours per week. The position involves direct interaction with electrical engineers, project teams, and field operations on a high-growth infrastructure project with evolving priorities. You will gain exposure to large-scale electrical systems, critical infrastructure, and advanced power generation and data center technologies, while benefiting from strong leadership support, significant project visibility, and a streamlined interview process.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
