The Behavioral Health Program Assistant at Homeless Solutions supports the daily operation of HSI's Behavioral Health Program through administrative coordination, documentation, program logistics, client engagement, and assistance with behavioral health and wellness activities. This full-time, on-site, hourly role reports to the Behavioral Health Counselor.

Key Responsibilities:
- Entering and maintaining client information, case notes, behavioral health records, and reports.
- Coordinating program meetings, wellness activities, appointments, transportation, supplies, donations, and Wellness Wing readiness.
- Supporting established medication-monitoring procedures without administering medication or providing medical advice.
- Assisting the Behavioral Health Counselor with scheduling, documenting, and implementing safety plans under the Counselor's direction.
- Providing limited assistance with drug and alcohol testing, particularly when testing must be coordinated with an outside laboratory.
- Supporting clients with approved behavioral health activities within the position's assigned scope.
- Following emergency protocols and immediately notifying supervisory, clinical, or emergency personnel when safety concerns arise.
- Maintaining confidentiality, complying with HSI policies, communicating with program staff, and performing other operational support duties
Direct Client Services:
- Support established medication monitoring procedures, including observing, counting, recording, and reporting discrepancies, in accordance with HSI policy and under appropriate supervision. This position does not administer medication or provide medical advice.
- Assist the Behavioral Health Counselor with scheduling, documenting, and implementing individualized safety plans under the Counselor's direction.
- Coordinate and schedule Mental Health and Wellness events and programming.
- Provide transportation to relevant appointments in the agency van.
- Assist with conducting Drug & Alcohol Testing and coordination with the testing lab as .
- Assist guests with behavioral-health-related needs and agreed-upon program activities within the scope of the position and as directed by the supervisor.
- Follow HSI emergency protocols, immediately notify designated supervisory or clinical staff, and contact first responders when directed by protocol or when immediate safety concerns require emergency assistance.

- Participate in professional development activities and share knowledge with other team members.
- Maintain program spaces in an orderly condition and complete light cleaning associated with daily program use. Report broader custodial or facility needs through established procedures.
- Communicate issues, concerns, or recommendations regarding clients or operational issues to supervisor.
- Communicate regularly and clearly to all Programs and Services staff, in order to ensure the seamless provision of services.
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with Programs and Services staff to support the consistent delivery of services.
Qualifications/Skills
- Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or current enrollment in behavioral health, social work, psychology, human services, public health, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health conditions, substance-use disorders, or other complex needs strongly preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive behavioral-health and client information appropriately.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Minimum 2 years of administrative, residential, human-services, or behavioral health experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with administrative functions and Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to follow established clinical and operational protocols, recognize when supervisory support is needed, and respond calmly in urgent situations.
- Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
