Are you ready to lead the charge on the floor and help Amazon deliver world class service through our air network?
The Amazon Transportation Services team is looking for a Process Assistant to join our Kemps Creek air hub. You'll run the full air dispatch workflow each shift: induction, sortation, bag building, palletising, and loading trucks for airport departure. Working to strict airline cutoffs, you'll coordinate with the operations team and our airline partner to make sure freight leaves on time, every time. When things don't go to plan, whether that's a late induction, a volume spike, or a truck running behind, you'll be the one on the floor making the call and keeping the operation moving.
There are two shifts available for this role, Sun-Wed 23:00 - 09:00 and Wed-Sat 23:00 - 09:00.
Key job responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day air hub operations across all process paths: induction, sortation, bag building, palletising, and truck loading
• Support daily management of the department by allocating labour, leading team meetings, and assigning job duties, covering for Air Hub Manager when needed
• Work on the floor alongside associates, providing hands-on training, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) compliance, and coaching safe work practices
• Track and report air hub operations and labour hours on a daily basis, contributing to process improvement projects and supporting area performance through monitoring and associate feedback
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment every shift, proactively identifying and addressing hazards and referring all workplace injuries immediately to the Air Hub Manager
• Liaise with internal teams including the fulfilment centre, sort centre, ATS, and AvSec to ensure smooth end-to-end operations, coordinating with the airline for any disruptions to scheduled departures
• Create and send a daily End of Shift report covering all operational activity
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations and conduct regular analysis of processes to prevent recurrence of issues
• Communicate status updates, delays, risks, and other issues to the Air Hub Manager
• Lead by example, fostering a culture of safety, customer obsession and ownership
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) experience
- High school or equivalent
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Work 38+ hours/week, and overtime as required
- Willingness to undergo and successfully pass government background checks to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to coach, train and assist team members
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
- Experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment managing multiple team members, or experience in an operational role
- Experience directly managing teams
