Manual Solder Operator

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday, Swing Shift: 12:00 pm -8:30 pm

Pay Rate: $27.00-$28.00/hr
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Experience: At least 2 years of Soldering experience

Manual Solder Operator Job Duties Include:

Perform manual soldering, rework, and assembly of through-hole, SMT, flex circuits, and cables using precision equipment like soldering irons and hot air tools.

Inspect solder joints and verify component placement, polarity, and values to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and customer specifications.

Read and accurately interpret travelers, assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions while maintaining precise production records.

Execute preparation tasks including wire stripping, tinning, splicing, and cable termination prior to final assembly.

Maintain strict adherence to ESD controls, safety guidelines, and FOD requirements while keeping equipment and workspaces clean.

Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement, resolve defects, and meet tight production schedules.

Other duties as assigned.

Manual Solder Operator Preferred Skills Include:

Current or previous IPC-A-610 Certification.

Current or previous IPC J-STD-001 Certification.

Specialized experience working with flexible circuits and rigid-flex assemblies.

Proven experience performing highly precise work continuously under magnification or microscopes.

Strong familiarity with IPC Class 2 and Class 3 workmanship requirements.

Hands-on experience assembling and soldering fine-pitch components and complex micro-electronics.

Manual Solder Operator Requirements Include:

High school diploma or equivalent, paired with 2+ years of manual soldering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in reading technical manufacturing documentation and hands-on experience using microscopes, tweezers, and precision hand tools.

Proven ability to identify and report common soldering defects, such as cold joints, bridging, lifted pads, and insufficient solder.

Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

Vision: Excellent visual acuity to perform detailed inspections, distinguish color-coded components, and utilize magnification devices for extended periods.

Physical: Ability to stand for the majority of the shift (70%-80%), as well as sit, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Must provide 3 professional references
