We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to play a critical role in analyzing requirements, conducting risk analysis, and managing validation and verification processes. You will lead the generation of trade studies and use cases while supporting technical writing for large-scale proposal efforts. Your responsibilities will include developing system architecture and multi-level design drawings, applying top-down system level specifications, and analyzing requirements down to the component level across subsystems. You will collaborate with partners and subcontractors to verify specifications, interface requirements, and produce Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between multiple subsystems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the generation of trade studies, use cases, and white papers.
- Provide technical writing support for large-scale proposal efforts.
- Develop system architecture and multi-level design drawings in accordance with Architecture Framework/IEEE standards.
- Apply top-down system level specifications and analyze requirements down to component level and across subsystems.
- Collaborate with partners and subcontractors to verify specifications and interface requirements.
- Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS), system design documents, network design, test plans, and other engineering artifacts as required.
- Participate in Technical Reviews and customer meetings.
- Conduct system performance modeling and analysis.
- Test software modules and integration between components/subsystems in lab environment and in the field.
- Support implementation efforts for domestic and international customers.
- Provide excellent verbal and written communication skills for documentation of results of analyses, design decisions, and implementations.
Essential Skills
- At least 5+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or complex integrated systems.
- Professional experience developing and managing system requirements using tools such as DOORS or equivalent.
- Familiarity with system modeling and engineering tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar.
- Professional knowledge of distributed system architectures, network technologies, and cyber security principles.
- Hands-on experience with software configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and system integration.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in theoretical and applied knowledge of C2-4ISR subject areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
- Knowledge of military standards including: MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, IPC Standards.
- Ability to evaluate field performance and product failures and recommend, evaluate, and implement product improvements.
- Experience in accurately documenting designs through the creation and maintenance of design requirement specifications, product drawings, component drawings, material specifications, and bills of material in accordance with ISO requirements.
- Ability to oversee the design and development of engineering drawings and documentation including plans and specifications based on calculations.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite five days a week with standard working hours from 7 am to 4 pm or 8 am to 5 pm. You will have the opportunity to work on mission-critical defense technologies in a collaborative environment, contributing throughout the full product lifecycle from requirements and design through integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $73.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
