Assistant Project Manager / Entry-Level Estimator – Marine Construction

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager / Entry-Level Estimator to join a well-established marine construction company in Westhampton Beach, NY . This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build a career in construction project management and estimating . No prior construction or estimating experience is required — comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided. In this role, you will work alongside experienced Project Managers and Estimators, gaining hands-on experience with the planning, estimating, and coordination of both public and private construction projects. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets, and eager to learn and grow into a Project Manager role.

Responsibilities

- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of active marine construction projects.
- Support the preparation of estimates, bids, and proposals for public and private projects.
- Review and organize project documents, specifications, drawings, and bid information.
- Gather and track pricing, quantities, project costs, schedules, and other key information.
- Create and maintain project spreadsheets, reports, and documentation using Microsoft Excel.
- Track project timelines, deliverables, and outstanding items to help keep projects on schedule.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with project-related follow-up and documentation throughout the lifecycle of a project.
- Work closely with experienced Project Managers and construction professionals to learn project scopes, requirements, and industry processes.
- Develop a working knowledge of construction estimating, bidding, project coordination, and marine construction operations.

Qualifications

- 1+ year of professional work experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; degrees in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related fields are a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. -- Attractive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
