The Country Programme Manager is a key role within World Vision New Zealand's International Partnerships Team. You will be the primary link between WVNZ and World Vision's Country Offices in PNG and Vanuatu, ensuring programmes are well-supported, donor commitments are met, and communities experience real, lasting change.

In this role, you will:

- Oversee end-to-end programme management — including reporting, budgets, risk, and compliance — across your portfolio.

- Monitor programme quality through regular country visits and close collaboration with Country Office implementation teams.

- Manage strategic relationships with World Vision Country Offices, NGO partners, and donors.

- Contribute to WVNZ's Marketing & Engagement team by sharing expertise,  and providing country context.

- Support capacity building for Country Office partners and contribute to cross-learning across the wider International Partnerships Team.

- Support the development of funding proposals and project designs

- Provide emergency response support in the Pacific region, when needed

About you:

- A degree in development studies, human rights, social sciences, or a related field.

- At least 3 years' experience in the design and management of international development and/or emergency programmes, including at least one year of overseas experience.

- Experience working in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, or similar Pacific country or developing country contexts is highly desirable — we welcome candidates who have managed comparable country portfolios in the Pacific region or elsewhere.

- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-sector, grants — from acquisition through to reporting — within the international development sector.

- Strong financial management skills, including preparation and analysis of project budgets and financial reports.

- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, with experience working with institutional donors (such as MFAT), country offices, and NGO partners.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing, donor reporting, and stakeholder presentations.

- Strategic thinker with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- A genuine commitment to World Vision's mission and Christian values, with respect for the diversity of all people.

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
