As the Equipment Facilities and Services Specialist for the Revolutionary Aviation Technologies Branch (D331), your primary role will be to act as the Facility Coordinator for over 40,000 square feet of laboratory and office space in four facilities on NASA Langley. You would also serve as the Facility Environmental Coordinator and Primary and/or Alternate Facility Safety Head for these same spaces, in addition to other duties such as Equipment Custodian.

Duties

Provide facility support essential to the continuous operations of equipment and facilities critical to NASA mission research activities.
Maintain awareness of activities to be conducted throughout the facilities and anticipate equipment, facilities, and services that will be required to sustain a high state of readiness.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned equipment and facilities; ensuring their relevant maintenance, replacement, repairs, and modifications occur to ensure a high state of operational readiness.
Plans, manages, oversees, and coordinates all reactive and preventative maintenance.
Analyze and develop new repair and modification techniques, criteria, and information required for changes in programs, technological developments, and events that have conflicting requirements.
Plan, manage, oversee, and coordinate all phases of major projects for maintenance or enhancements of equipment and facilities. Determine whether in-house personnel or contractors are best suited to accomplish projects.
Provide recommendations for long-range improvements for facilities and equipment to better accomplish NASA missions.
Support equipment and facility upgrades and maintenance by providing resource requirements, scheduling planning, and coordinating implementation of the required work to be performed with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for the safe and continuous operations or assigned equipment and facilities. Formulates safety plans to include fire evacuation, manufacturing/fabrications operations, and laboratory research.
Maintain surveillance of office areas for hazardous conditions.

This position may require a one-year probationary period. If selected, the requirement to serve such period will be determined by Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 11. **See Additional Information section**
You must meet qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:

Performing facility coordination duties, including managing facility operations, safety protocols, and resource allocation.
Planning, managing, overseeing, and coordinating reactive and preventative maintenance for two or more facilities.
Planning, managing, overseeing, and coordinating all phases of major upgrade, enhancement, and repair projects valued greater than $7,500.00.
