Transition and Transformation Project Manager – Cloud Infrastructure and Security Services
Job Summary
Zensar is looking for an experienced Transition and Transformation Project Manager to lead complex transition, onboarding, and transformation programs across Cloud Infrastructure and Security Services. The role will be responsible for moving services from customer teams or incumbent providers into Zensar’s delivery model while ensuring service continuity, operational readiness, governance discipline, and a smooth handover into steady-state operations.

Role Purpose
The role is accountable for end-to-end transition and transformation delivery, from mobilization and discovery through Knowledge Transfer, operational readiness, go-live, hypercare, and steady-state handover. The successful candidate will bring structure to complex programs, work across customer and internal teams, manage dependencies and risks, and ensure that transition outcomes are delivered with clarity, control, and accountability.
Key Accountabilities Transition and Transformation Delivery
- Own the transition and transformation plan across scope, workstreams, milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, acceptance criteria, and governance cadence.
- Lead mobilization, discovery, due diligence, solution handover, onboarding, operational readiness, and transition-to-run activities.
- Translate contractual scope, solution assumptions, customer commitments, and delivery obligations into a practical execution plan.
- Define and manage stage gates, entry and exit criteria, governance forums, escalation routes, and transition controls.
- Ensure transition plans are realistic, dependency-led, and aligned with customer timelines, delivery readiness, and agreed outcomes.
Knowledge Transfer and Operational Readiness
- Plan, coordinate, and track Knowledge Transfer across cloud, infrastructure, network, workplace, security, monitoring, tools, and service management workstreams.
- Ensure required documentation is created, reviewed, baselined, and signed off, including SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams, access inventories, support models, escalation matrices, and service catalogs.
- Run readiness reviews covering people, process, technology, tools, reporting, governance, compliance, and customer acceptance requirements.
- Track KT completion, documentation gaps, open risks, pending actions, and sign-offs through structured dashboards and governance forums.
Governance, Reporting and Stakeholder Management
- Drive daily and weekly execution rhythm across workstreams, ensuring milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions are actively tracked and closed.
- Lead governance reviews with customer stakeholders, account teams, practice leaders, delivery teams, PMO, quality, and technical tower owners.
- Prepare clear status reports for working groups, steering committees, and leadership reviews, covering progress, risks, decisions, financial or delivery dependencies, and next steps.
- Maintain RAID logs, action trackers, milestone dashboards, dependency trackers, escalation notes, and governance packs with strong ownership discipline.
- Build confidence with customers through transparent reporting, early escalation, and consistent follow-through.
Risk, Issue, Change and Dependency Management
- Identify and manage risks that could impact transition milestones, service readiness, quality, compliance, contractual commitments, or customer experience.
- Drive mitigation plans with clear owners, target dates, decision points, and escalation paths.
- Manage transition-related scope clarifications, dependency impacts, change requests, assumptions, and issue resolutions in coordination with PMO, account teams, and delivery owners.
- Escalate critical blockers early with facts, options, recommendations, and business impact.
Go-Live, Hypercare and Stabilization
- Plan and facilitate go-live readiness reviews, go/no-go checkpoints, operational handovers, and service acceptance discussions.
- Coordinate cutover readiness, access readiness, monitoring readiness, reporting setup, ITSM integration, escalation readiness, and support model activation.
- Lead hypercare governance after go-live and track early-life service performance against agreed SLAs, KPIs, operational thresholds, and customer expectations.
- Ensure clean handover to steady-state operations with accepted deliverables, closed documentation, agreed open actions, and clear ownership.
Transformation and Continuous Improvement
- Support transformation initiatives linked to transition, including automation, tool consolidation, cloud modernization, operating model improvement, process standardization, and service management maturity uplift.
- Work with practice and delivery teams to identify improvement opportunities during transition and stabilization.
- Ensure transformation outcomes are measurable, tracked, and aligned to customer priorities and Zensar delivery commitments.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in transition planning, mobilization, due diligence, execution governance, service onboarding, stabilization, and transition-to-run handover.
- Good understanding of ITIL-based service management processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, Configuration, Capacity, Availability, and Service Level Management.
- Working knowledge of cloud, infrastructure, network, workplace, cybersecurity, monitoring, ITSM tools, and managed services operating models.
- Experience managing RAID logs, dependency trackers, milestone dashboards, governance decks, executive status reports, and action trackers.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across customers, account teams, practice teams, delivery teams, PMO, SQA, and technical tower owners.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex program status in a simple, factual, and decision-oriented manner.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in cloud migration, service transformation, automation adoption, tool integration, operating model redesign, or service management maturity programs.
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, hybrid cloud, data center, compute, storage, backup, disaster recovery, SD-WAN, network security, identity, endpoint, and workplace services.
- Familiarity with SOC operations, security incident management, vulnerability management, endpoint security, SIEM, compliance, and security governance.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to work in global delivery environments with distributed teams, enterprise customers, and multi-vendor ecosystems.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- ITIL Foundation certification is preferred; ITIL Intermediate or Managing Professional certification will be an added advantage.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project/program management certification is desirable.
- Cloud certification in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or equivalent foundation-level certification will be an advantage.
- Security certification or awareness such as ISO 27001, CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent exposure will be beneficial.
Experience Required

- Demonstrates strong customer-facing communication, executive reporting, and issue escalation skills.
- Shows working knowledge of ITIL processes and managed services delivery models.
- Can operate independently in a matrix environment and drive closure across multiple workstreams.
