Systems Engineer – Product Development

We are looking for a Systems Engineer – Product Development to support the design and development of automotive electrical systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in electrical distribution, power distribution, or wire harness systems who is ready to take ownership of increasingly complex engineering activities and contribute to vehicle programs from early design through validation and launch.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze customer requirements and RFQ documentation to evaluate technical feasibility and support technical reviews.
- Develop and document electrical system designs, including schematics, topology, power distribution, grounding, wire sizing, and protection device selection .
- Analyze vehicle and harness complexity and develop solutions that optimize system architecture, cost, weight, and quality.
- Perform circuit simulations, electrical calculations, and architecture optimization studies to support design decisions.
- Create and maintain logical and physical schematics, vehicle-level topology, and engineering documentation.
- Use 3D CAD tools to create and maintain product data and models according to customer requirements.
- Select components and develop assemblies that meet applicable customer and vehicle specifications.
- Perform design and data release checks to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with validation teams to verify customer requirements through activities such as load surveys, short-circuit analysis, and other validation processes.
- Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, or Six Sigma.
- Participate in benchmarking, warranty analysis, cost-reduction initiatives, and VAVE activities.
- Provide technical support during prototype builds, vehicle builds, and product launches as required.

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Approximately 4 –6 years of relevant engineering experience , ideally within automotive product development, electrical systems, power distribution, or wire harness design.
- Experience with electrical system design concepts such as power distribution, grounding, circuit protection, wire sizing, schematics, and vehicle topology .
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as CATIA V5, AutoCAD, NX, Harness XC, or similar tools.
- Ability to perform or interpret circuit simulations and electrical calculations .
- Understanding of customer and industry specifications related to automotive electrical systems.
- Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, or Six Sigma is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate technical information to different audiences.
