Position Summary

Manage and oversee all Philippine tax compliance and reporting requirements, including Value-Added Tax (VAT), Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Corporate Income Tax (CIT). Ensure compliance with regulations issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and other relevant government agencies. Support tax planning initiatives to optimize tax efficiency while maintaining compliance with applicable Philippine tax laws and regulations. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of tax-related changes within the Company. This role reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Tax.

Responsibilities

- Support monthly tax compliance activities, including the review of accounting records, source documents, and transactions to determine tax implications and ensure accurate preparation and filing of tax returns.

- Prepare and/or review monthly and quarterly tax returns, including VAT, withholding taxes (EWT, FWT, and compensation withholding tax), and other applicable local tax filings.

- Support annual corporate income tax compliance, including tax provision calculations, tax adjustments, preparation of income tax returns, and reconciliation of tax accounts.

- Coordinate closely with the Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, and other business teams on tax-related matters.

- Handle correspondence, inquiries, assessments, and audits from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Local Government Units (LGUs), and other regulatory agencies.

- Assist in tax examinations, assessments, audits, and investigations conducted by government authorities.

- Manage tax refund applications, including VAT refund claims and other tax credit claims, and coordinate with relevant government agencies throughout the process.

- Prepare and maintain tax working papers, supporting schedules, and documentation required for tax compliance and audits.

- Support statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors regarding tax matters.

- Monitor changes in Philippine tax laws, regulations, revenue regulations, revenue memorandum circulars, and tax rulings, and communicate relevant impacts to management and stakeholders.

- Assist in tax planning, process improvement, and implementation of tax compliance controls to minimize tax exposure and ensure regulatory compliance.

- Support ad hoc tax projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field.

- Relevant tax certifications or specialized tax training are an advantage.

- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting and taxation.

- Experience working in an outsourced accounting firm is preferrable.

- Multitasking, time management, good communication skill and supervisory skill are required.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Good command of both speaking and writing in English (business level) is required.

- Positive and enthusiasm in learning attitude

- Good knowledge in Microsoft Office and ERP (SAP, Xero, Quickbooks, FlowAccount etc.)
