Role Summary
The Compliance and Privacy Program Apprenticeship offers early-career professionals hands-on experience within a global health technology company. The apprentice will support Innovaccer’s compliance and privacy programs across the United States, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and India.
Working with experienced legal, compliance, privacy, security, and business professionals, the apprentice will learn how regulatory requirements apply to healthcare technology, artificial intelligence, data platforms, and cross-border operations. The role combines structured learning with practical assignments involving privacy assessments, regulatory research, risk management, documentation, and program administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance registers, including records of processing activities, risk registers, assessment trackers, regulatory inventories, and remediation logs.
- Help improve compliance workflows, templates, metrics, and reporting processes.
- Support compliance training, internal communications, audit preparation, evidence collection, and follow-up on identified action items.
- Support privacy impact assessments and other reviews of products, business processes, technologies, and data-processing activities.
- Assist with preparing, reviewing, and maintaining privacy and regulatory compliance documentation, policies, procedures, notices, and internal guidance.
- Participate in privacy and compliance assessments of vendors and other third parties, including reviewing questionnaires and supporting documentation.
- Support data protection initiatives involving data minimization, retention, access controls, individual rights, consent, transparency, and privacy by design.
- Conduct supervised research on healthcare, privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data protection requirements in Innovaccer’s operating markets.
- Develop familiarity with HIPAA, the GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law, the UAE’s Personal Data Protection Law, and other applicable laws and standards.
- Assist with monitoring regulatory developments and summarizing their potential impact on Innovaccer’s products, customers, and operations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand how legal and regulatory requirements affect product development, customer delivery, procurement, security, and corporate operations.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound research and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and conversation. Candidates should be organized, curious, and comfortable managing multiple assignments in a fast-moving environment.
An interest in healthcare, technology, artificial intelligence, privacy, or regulatory compliance is essential. Candidates must be able to handle confidential information responsibly and collaborate with colleagues from different professional and cultural backgrounds.
What You’ll Learn
During the apprenticeship, you will develop practical skills in privacy program management, healthcare regulatory compliance, and compliance operations. You will learn how to identify privacy risks, document assessments, track remediation, and support accountable decision-making.
You will also gain exposure to vendor risk management, data governance, privacy by design, regulatory change management, and cross-border data transfer frameworks. Through work across several jurisdictions, you will learn how global requirements interact with local healthcare, privacy, and technology laws.
The apprenticeship will also help you build professional skills in legal research, stakeholder communication, project coordination, policy drafting, and presenting compliance issues in a clear, business-focused manner.
