Role Overview
This role is responsible for supporting the development, embedding and ongoing enhancement of the Third Party Risk Management framework across the APAC region. Based in Singapore or Hong Kong, the role will act as a regional lead and business partner for stakeholders across APAC, ensuring third party and outsourcing arrangements are managed in line with Schroders’ global standards, local regulatory expectations and regional business requirements.
The role will work closely with the Global Head of Third Party Risk Management, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk and Resilience, Information Security, Business Continuity, Financial Crime and regional business owners to ensure third party risks are identified, assessed, monitored and reported effectively throughout the supplier lifecycle.
Location and Scope
The role can be based in Singapore or Hong Kong and will support Third Party Risk Management activity across the APAC region. The role will require close collaboration with regional business stakeholders, local control functions and the global Third Party Risk Management team to ensure APAC arrangements are managed consistently, proportionately and in line with applicable requirements.
What you'll do
• Act as the APAC regional lead for Third Party Risk Management, supporting consistent adoption of global policy, standards, procedures and governance across the region.
• Partner with senior stakeholders and supplier/service owners across APAC to support effective oversight of third party and outsourcing arrangements.
• Lead implementation of regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations relevant to Singapore and other APAC jurisdictions, including outsourcing, third party risk, operational resilience, technology risk and business continuity requirements.
• Coordinate TPRM input into APAC regulatory enquiries, inspections, audits and assurance reviews, working with Compliance and Legal and escalating material matters to the Global Head of Third Party Risk Management.
• Maintain regional oversight of material, high-risk and regulated third party arrangements, ensuring accurate records, ownership, criticality assessments, due diligence status and contract data are maintained.
• Lead the development and maintenance of regional third party registers, including outsourcing and material third party registers where required for regulatory reporting or internal governance.
• Coordinate due diligence activities across relevant subject matter experts, including Operational Risk, Information Security, Technology Risk, Business Continuity, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Credit Risk and Sustainability.
• Lead or support supplier risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, periodic reviews, exit planning, concentration risk analysis and issue remediation across APAC arrangements.
• Provide guidance and challenge to supplier/service owners to help ensure policy compliance and appropriate management of risks across the full supplier lifecycle. Track, challenge and escalate overdue actions, control weaknesses and policy non-compliance.
• Lead regional TPRM governance and reporting, including the preparation of management information, risk insights, issue updates and committee materials for APAC stakeholders.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Third Party Risk Management processes, controls, reporting, data quality and tooling, including participation in global system and operating model enhancements.
• Support supplier engagement activities relating to performance, resilience, sustainability, modern slavery, information security, business continuity and other relevant risk domains.
• Deputise for, or represent, the Global Third Party Risk Management function on APAC-related matters where required.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Experience in Third Party Risk Management, outsourcing, supplier governance, operational risk, procurement risk or a related discipline within financial services or another regulated environment.
• Good understanding of third party risk management frameworks, supplier lifecycle controls, due diligence, ongoing monitoring, issue management and governance reporting.
• Experience working with cross-functional subject matter experts to coordinate risk assessments and due diligence activities.
• Understanding of regulatory expectations relating to outsourcing, third party risk management, technology risk, operational resilience and business continuity, particularly in Singapore or across APAC.
• Ability to review supplier, contract and risk data and translate this into clear reporting, insights and actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality governance materials and stakeholder updates.
• Strong organisational, presentation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable using procurement, supplier management, risk management or workflow tools to manage records, actions and reporting.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that'll help
• Experience supporting regional regulatory engagement, audits, assurance reviews or remediation programmes.
• Knowledge of MAS outsourcing and third party risk expectations, including evolving expectations for broader third party arrangements, register maintenance, lifecycle management, subcontracting, operational resilience and concentration risk.
• Experience working across multiple APAC jurisdictions and adapting global frameworks to local regulatory or business requirements.
• Experience with supplier segmentation, materiality assessments, exit planning, scenario testing or concentration risk analysis.
• Experience contributing to system implementation, process transformation, data quality improvement or operating model change.
• Awareness of sustainability-related supplier risks, including modern slavery, human rights, carbon emissions and inclusion and diversity.
