Job Title: Swim Instructor at Speer YMCA
Description: The Y is the nation's largest provider of swim lessons, dedicated to improving water safety and swimming skills for all ages. As a part-time Swim Instructor, you'll provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for participants in our swim classes.
Duties:
Teach swimming and water safety skills to students of varying ages and ability levels, from Parent/Child to Adult classes.
Instruct students in swimming and exercise fundamentals in accordance with YMCA standards.
Ensure proper technique, appropriate use of equipment, and a safe, engaging learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Comfortable working with participants of all ages and skill levels.
- Current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Swim Instructor training are a plus.
- In-house training is available for qualified candidates.
- Ability to demonstrate proper swim instruction techniques and safely lift equipment and small-to-average-size children.
- Pass a 10-panel urinalysis drug screening
- Clear a Level 2 background check*
Pay & Perks: $15.00–$20.00/hour. Free individual YMCA membership and discount for household family members.
