Position Summar

Client is seeking a highly skilled CAD Automation Developer to support engineering automation, CAD customization, and PLM integration initiatives within the Solar Engineering organization. This role will develop custom automation solutions for both PTC Creo Parametric and Siemens NX, integrate CAD workflows with enterprise PLM/PDM systems, and help drive engineering productivity, design quality, and digital engineering maturity.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with PTC Creo PRO/TOOLKIT and Siemens NXOpen APIs, strong C++ capability, practical C# experience for NX/UI development, and Java experience to support PTC Windchill customization and integration.

Key Responsibilities

Creo Customization & Automation

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support custom automation solutions using PTC Creo PRO/TOOLKIT APIs.

- Create and maintain Creo customization applications that improve engineering productivity and design consistency.

- Develop tools for CAD model creation, validation, data extraction, drawing/assembly support, and design standardization.

- Support Creo user interface and workflow customizations, including optional exposure to Creo VB API or J-Link.

NX Customization & Automation

- Design, develop, test, and deploy custom automation applications using Siemens NXOpen APIs and UFUNC.

- Develop custom NX menu integrations, toolbar extensions, user interfaces, and NX Block Styler applications.

- Create automation tools to streamline engineering design, simulation, model validation, and data management workflows.

- Develop reusable frameworks, utilities, and shared components to improve engineering productivity across CAD platforms.

CAD Automation & Parametric Design

- Implement parametric modeling and design automation solutions across Creo and NX.

- Automate generation, validation, and standardization of CAD models, assemblies, drawings, attributes, and engineering data.

- Develop intelligent design automation capabilities that reduce manual effort and support repeatable engineering processes.

- Support engineering quality improvements through model checks, data validation, and workflow automation.

PLM, PDM & Windchill Integration

- Develop and support integrations between CAD platforms and PLM/PDM systems, including Windchill and Teamcenter where applicable.

- Use Java where needed to support PTC Windchill customization, integration, automation, and workflow-related development.

- Support CAD-PDM synchronization, attribute mapping, metadata management, and engineering data management workflows.

- Collaborate on future-state engineering system integration, digital thread, and model-based engineering initiatives.

Agile Delivery & Engineering Collaboration

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and continuous improvement activities.

- Collaborate with global engineering, IT, product development, and PLM stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.

- Troubleshoot, debug, tune, and resolve CAD automation and integration-related issues.

- Follow software engineering best practices, coding standards, version control, and SDLC processes.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on CAD customization and automation development experience; 8+ years preferred for senior candidates.

- Demonstrated experience with Creo PRO/TOOLKIT and/or Siemens NXOpen API development; strong candidates should bring depth in one platform and practical capability in the other.

- Strong programming foundation in C++ with C# and Java highly preferred.

- Experience working with engineering application ecosystems, PLM/PDM environments, and enterprise engineering workflows.

- Proven ability to deliver scalable automation solutions in complex, global engineering environments.
