Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical intern to join our Strategy and M&A team under the guidance of Deezer’s Chief Strategy Officer.

As an intern, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with a small team of two people coming from diverse backgrounds, including consulting and M&A, gaining hands-on experience in the dynamic and rapidly evolving music streaming industry.

This role offers exposure to critical strategic initiatives and the chance to contribute directly to Deezer’s growth and corporate development priorities.

What you will do:

• Market Research and Strategic Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, assess the competitive landscape, and explore emerging opportunities in the music streaming and entertainment industry.

• Strategic Planning and Business Cases: Support the development and refinement of corporate strategy, including market entry, growth and expansion plans. Develop and update Excel models to support business cases, scenario analysis and strategic recommendations.

• M&A and Corporate Development: Assist in screening potential targets and conducting due diligence, including financial analysis, market positioning, business model assessment and risk analysis.

• Presentations: Prepare and contribute to presentations for senior leadership, summarising findings, recommendations and insights in a clear and compelling way.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the organization, including Finance, Legal, Product and other business teams, to support the execution of strategic initiatives.

This is a 6-month internship starting in January 2027, based in Paris.

Qualifications

This role is excellent for a person with:

- You are currently in a final year or gap year (“césure”) at a top-tier business or engineering school
- First experience with a well-known international consulting firm or in corporate finance (investment banking, private equity) would be highly appreciated
- You have strong analytical skills with excellent research and problem-solving abilities
- Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international environment
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills, both in English and in French
- You are attracted by the tech/start-up environment, and a passion for the music and entertainment industry is a plus
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
