RUST Engineer

Job Title: Rust Engineer Job Description This role focuses on designing, building, and supporting complex, cutting-edge embedded platforms using Rust for connected automotive products. You will work in a highly energized, fast-paced, and innovative environment, contributing to the next generation of in-vehicle multimedia and entertainment systems. The position involves end-to-end ownership of software components, from initial design through deployment and ongoing improvement. Responsibilities

- Contribute to the full software development life cycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of embedded software solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, extensible, and thoroughly tested Rust code that adheres to established coding standards and best practices.
- Produce technical specifications and documentation, and determine the operational feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Continuously integrate and deliver software components into a fully functional, cohesive software system using modern CI/CD practices.
- Facilitate end-to-end user testing with customers to validate features, gather feedback, and ensure high-quality user experiences.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to improve performance, reliability, and functionality.
- Collaborate closely with product owners to understand requirements, shape features, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
- Apply current best practices and principles in software development to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Work effectively within a team-oriented, agile software engineering environment, participating in planning, reviews, and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Skills

- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience writing clean, concise, tested, and maintainable code in Rust.
- Experience deploying Rust applications to production or providing ongoing support for Rust applications in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with embedded platforms and software development for connected or multimedia systems.
- Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, and upgrading software systems.
- Basic knowledge of modern software architectures, CI/CD practices, and related engineering competencies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, agile software engineering environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Organized and detail-oriented approach to work, with high standards for code quality and deliverables.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies, programming practices, patterns, and methods quickly.
- Capacity to develop healthy working relationships and collaborate productively with peers and leaders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with end-to-end user testing and collaborating directly with customers to validate features.
- Experience working with microservices or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with connected automotive products or in-vehicle multimedia and entertainment systems.
- Experience applying current software development best practices in high-performance, embedded environments.
- Ability to contribute to and refine coding standards and development processes within an engineering team.

Work Environment This is a hybrid role that requires working onsite three days per week, combined with remote work for the remaining days. You will operate in a fast-paced, innovative automotive software environment focused on connected products and next-generation in-vehicle multimedia systems. The team follows agile methodologies and leverages modern CI/CD practices to deliver high-quality embedded software. Collaboration, clear communication, and continuous learning are central to the culture, with opportunities to work closely with product owners, engineers, and customers to shape and refine features.

This is a Permanent position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
