The Senior Manager, Data Governance will be responsible for managing and leading the OMERS Investment Finance & Operations (IFO) Data Governance Program implementation and roadmap. This role will consult and work with a variety of stakeholders and groups in OMERS including the IFO Data Governance Committee (DGC), investment teams, operations teams, and the Enterprise Data Governance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Leading the enablement and oversight of the data governance framework for OMERS public and private investment data, with a focus on mitigating data risk through the advancement of organization behavior, policies and standards, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture
- Working with senior leadership on the IFO Data Governance Committee (DGC) to define and formally assign the governance roles of data owners, stewards, and custodians; work with the business to ensure these roles and their responsibilities are understood and effectively executed; identify and document data assets in scope of the Program
- Conducting data risk assessments, and developing plans for maturing strategic data governance capabilities and priorities to effectively manage risks
- Cataloging data assets, including metadata and data lineage;  establishing consistent baselines for data quality across public and private investment data domains, and implementing standards for data quality monitoring
- Supporting the data governance foundations for large-scale transformation initiatives, working in partnership with technology and business stakeholders to ensure that implicated data is effectively governed
- Supporting the creation and adoption of new data policies, standards and guidelines

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Data Governance & Data Quality Expertise

- Sound knowledge and experience with data governance strategy and program delivery
- Experience establishing data governance policies, standards, and guidelines
- Knowledge of leading data quality management practices

2. Investment Data & Business Acumen

- Knowledge of investment products and processes, and their associated data across public markets trade lifecycles and private investment deal processes

3. Leadership, Change Management & Stakeholder Influence

- Demonstrated consulting and leadership skills
- Experience applying change management concepts and strategies
- Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong orientation toward strategy, change, and results

4. Growth Mindset & Personal Effectiveness

- Driven self-starter who demonstrates initiative
- Eagerness and aptitude for learning

Preferred Skills & Experience:

1. Strategic Leadership & Executive Engagement

- Experience working and communicating with executives (Directors, VP+)
- Strategy development, strategic thinking, roadmap development, and planning

2. Data Management & Technology Expertise

- Experience working within data operations or operational data management functions
- Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions

This posting is for an existing vacancy.
The expected salary range for this position is $122,000.00 - $188,000.00 per year.
