The selected individual must have the technical expertise to support and lead product design projects, product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality & reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering and stage gate product development process practices.
What you will do:
- Lead the development of HVAC refrigeration systems to meet performance, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements.
- Lead the evaluation of the technical feasibility of product and internal requirements, and drive the design and selection of robust, cost-effective components while developing clear engineering specifications.
- Establish the technical strategy for compliance and serve as subject matter expert on regulatory codes, including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, UL, CRN, and Seismic certifications (IBC/OSHPD). Understand and apply applicable regulatory codes and standards, such as UL, CRN, Seismic (IBC/OSHPD), and ASME requirements.
- Create, review and maintain the engineering documentation package, including technical reports, lab test results, drawings, and specifications, to ensure it reflects the design intent and that all required documents are completed on time to the satisfaction of internal customers.
- Lead component- and system-level Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) and execute resulting risk mitigation plans to ensure all technical knowledge gaps, structural/thermal risks, and laboratory failures (FRACAS/8D) are fully closed to prevent quality escapes.

- Provide technical support and guidance to laboratory technicians, manufacturing engineering, suppliers, technical service, and operations.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, encouraging professional development, and fostering sound engineering judgment.
- Overnight travel (less than 5%).
What you will bring:
