Senior Application Platform Specialist SAP (m/w/d)

We are looking for a Senior Application Platform Specialist SAP (m/f/d) to join our Platform Management team at the earliest possible date, based in Stuttgart. The Senior Application Platform Specialist SAP (m/f/d) leads the coordination and delivery of complex IT and SAP‑related projects, ensuring stable system operations, effective user support, and continuous enhancement of applications and interfaces across international teams. It drives process analysis, designs functional and technical concepts, manages rollouts and change activities, and resolves complex issues with strong analytical and technical expertise. With deep SAP knowledge, development skills, and proven ability to operate autonomously, the role influences stakeholders, mentors peers, and delivers high‑quality, future‑ready solutions that strengthen the organization’s financial and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordination and management of IT projects, including oversight of involved IT service providers.
- System support (operation, support, training) and further development of applications, including testing, in close collaboration with service providers and business units.
- Execution of process analysis and design, development of functional and technical concepts in close cooperation and coordination with service providers and business units.
- Creation of high-quality process, technical, and user documentation.
- Coordination and participation in the international rollout of new applications and features, including training and change management.
- Analysis and resolution of complex problems and errors, including debugging.
- Accountable for completion of complex tasks and projects with minimal day-to-day management. Acts autonomously and applies judgement. Supervision required for overall tasks/project completion.

Key Requirements

- Master’s degree (e.g. business economics/sciences, (business) computer science or comparable field).
- At least 6-8 years of professional experience in SAP FI, RE-fx, PS, MM consulting (customizing, process definition, accounting skills, development skills).
- Highly experienced in customizing SAP FI, RE-fx, PS, MM, including system adaptations using User Exits, BADIs, etc.
- demonstrates experienced understanding of business line and discipline, especialy of accounting business processes (e.g. bank communication, multi-GAAP understanding, asset accounting, taxes, DRC)
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, with a quick comprehension of business requirements and the ability to transform them into business solution designs.
- Experienced with various interfaces (e.g. web services, IDoc, file-based).
- Development experience in relevant areas (e.g. ABAP).
- Working experience with agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum), issue tracking tools (e.g. Jira) and content management systems (e.g. Confluence).
- Experience in designing workflows, usability, and user experience.
- High interest in technical issues and innovations.
- demonstrates advanced digital and AI literacy, evaluates opportunities and risks of AI adoption, applies sound judgment to AI-generated outputs, and promotes responsible use of AI in compliance with governance, security, and data protection requirements.
