Senior Software Engineer

Come join the Intuit FinTech Risk Platform Team  as a backend Senior Software Engineer.

Responsibilities

- Build, design and implement scalable cloud-based platform services
- Work on significant assignments that are broad in scope and complexity and cover a wide range of issues
- Successful delivery of high quality and complex software (requirements, design,  code, documentation)
- Ensure the end-to-end solution design delivers a great customer experience
- Ensure the cross-functional team understands what’s important, how we measure how we are doing and delivers on the right priorities to create a great solution
- Understands and applies business unit objectives when creating solutions
- Contribute to early quality activities, including peer reviews, estimates, designs and code
- Partner effectively with all team members to deliver against commitments
- Commitment to team success and positive team dynamics
- Experience with Agile Development, Scrum methodologies
- Design scalable platform, research new technologies, and prototype new ideas while balancing it with business initiatives
- Mentors and teaches team members to raise the technical acumen on the overall team
- Proactively brings high impact technologies and engineering practices into the company
- Collaborates effectively with and influences peers to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas

Qualifications

- 3+ years experience designing and developing web, software, or mobile applications
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
- Deep knowledge/experience with data architecture: SQL, NoSQL, and data caching technologies/in-memory databases such as MemCached and Redis
- Building strong teams - set and evangelize vision, facilitative leadership, attract and retain key talent, cross-functional leader
- Experience designing and maintaining large-scale backend web services
- Passionate about building and running distributed systems at scale in production
- Strong foundation in RESTful APIs, data structures, algorithms, software design and security
- Expertise in working with container deployment and orchestration technologies at scale with strong knowledge of the fundamentals to include service discovery, deployments, monitoring, scheduling, load balancing. Knowledge of Kubernetes, Go and Docker preferred
- Ability to work with large volumes of data and knowledge of big data machine learning techniques.
- Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development
