About our Emerging Talent Program:
Intuit invests in Emerging Talent because fresh perspectives strengthen our products and teams. The program is backed by a culture that values curiosity and collaboration, and you'll be supported by dedicated managers and mentors who are invested in your growth. As an intern or co-op, you'll work on meaningful projects with business impact, many centered on AI and emerging technologies, and contribute to driving decisions. You'll build skills through function-specific learning opportunities, connect with a global community of interns and co-ops through dedicated programming and social events, and get exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional work across Intuit's product ecosystem. The Marketing and Design Research team is the voice of the customer for TurboTax Canada. We provide research input to Marketing Strategy, Design, Product Development, and our Go-To-Market channel partners. Our work shapes our customer’s experience and how we take our product to market.
Responsibilities
- Run studies end to end. Scope research questions with stakeholders, write screeners and discussion guides, program and QA surveys, recruit and screen participants, moderate sessions, and turn what you find into recommendations someone can act on.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data. Code open-ended responses and transcripts into themes, build cross-tabs and pivot tables, run usability analysis, and connect patterns in the data to actionable product and marketing implications.
- Build interactive tools that socialize insights. Use AI-assisted development to turn static findings into living dashboards that stakeholders can self-serve on, so insights stay in circulation long after the readout.
- Automate the repetitive parts of research. Re-imagine our processes to reduce manual steps like data exports, recurring summaries, and theme tagging with pipelines and AI workflows that run on their own.
- Build competitive and market intelligence. Work independently through secondary sources to build signals that inform our stakeholders and leaders on where we stand and how we compete.
- Socialize findings across the organization. Present to product, design, marketing, and strategy partners, tailoring the same research to different audiences and building the artifacts that make findings stick.
- Keep the research engine running. Help our research agency partners stay on track through larger tracking and segmentation studies, and improve our repository, templates, and intake process so past learnings are easy to find.
Qualifications
- Actively enrolled in a post-secondary education program.
- A graduation date after the co-op term ends.
- Available for an 8 month (January - August 2027) co -op work term for 40 hours per week
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the co-op term, without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in our Toronto office a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Customer empathy and a real interest in customer insight. You're drawn to understanding people, not just data points, and you can evaluate a product through the eyes of someone very different from you.
- Analytical ability. You can find the pattern in a spreadsheet of survey responses or quantitative metrics, then explain what it implies to our stakeholders.
- AI fluency, with healthy skepticism. Comfort using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and agentic coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor) to analyze data, build prototypes, and dashboards, plus the instinct to check the output rather than take it at face value.
- Storytelling and communication. Strong written and verbal skills and an interest in making insights compelling: structure, narrative, visuals, and knowing what to leave out.
- Ownership and initiative. You own your projects end-to-end while knowing when to reach out for guidance and support.
- Attention to detail. You care about clean data and building accurate themes, and you flag methodological limitations before findings go out the door.
- Bonus, not required: Familiarity with research methods or statistical techniques; survey platforms (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey); design and collaboration tools (Figma, FigJam); qualitative analysis tools (HeyMarvin, Dovetail).
