Simulation Engineer

Job Title: Simulation Engineer Job Description
This role involves conducting throughput analysis and simulating new vehicle programs during all stages of the Global Vehicle Development Process. The simulation engineer will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering centers to design and optimize both current and future manufacturing systems, while also supporting plants in their throughput improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Implement simulation deliverables for assigned new or major vehicle programs.
- Conduct analyses and experiments, interpret results, and produce standard reports with potential improvements.
- Respond to throughput simulation requests from assigned manufacturing facilities.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering (ME) optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Extract necessary inputs from Manufacturing Planning & Engineering documents.
- Coordinate with MSIE, GA, Conveyor, and IE organizations.
- Utilize and contribute to the improvement of standardized work and lessons learned.
- Deliver results to customers.
- Interface with Execution and Process Leads to support total plant throughput strategy.
- Interface with Execution and Process teams to validate and update Data Sets.
- Support the development and refinement of station level data.
- Occasional travel, approximately 5-10%.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
- 2+ years of experience with discrete event simulation.
- Familiarity with the Theory of Constraints.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet both short and long-term deadlines while managing multiple projects and assignments.
- High level of analytical ability for solving complex problems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in vehicle assembly manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with CDraw2 or Siemens Plant Simulation software.
- Experience with the Throughput Improvement Process, methods, and tools.
- Experience applying the Theory of Constraints to improve manufacturing processes.
- Experience with discrete event simulation software.
- Experience coding in VBA or Siemens Plant Simulation SimTalk.
- Experience with statistical analysis of data sets.
Work Environment
This position is primarily hybrid, with in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The team consists of approximately 80 engineers responsible for different programs and commodities. Some work may occur at supplier locations. This is a first shift position with hours generally between 8 AM and 5 PM. The dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $58.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
