YOUR ROLE
We are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at the Champion Technical Center in Warren, Ohio .
In this role, you will work closely with Product Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supplier partners to develop and industrialize new products from prototype through full-scale production. You will play a key role in designing manufacturing processes, developing tooling and fixturing, and introducing innovative technologies that improve product quality, efficiency, and scalability.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
You will partner with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to develop robust manufacturing solutions that support both new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
In your daily work, you will:
- Develop manufacturing processes for new products from prototype through serial production.
- Design, develop, and implement tooling and fixturing solutions to support product development and manufacturing activities.
- Lead advanced manufacturing projects focused on improving existing processes, equipment, and production methods.
- Identify and incorporate leading-edge manufacturing technologies into Aptiv products and operations.
- Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, lessons learned, and project status updates.
- Develop manufacturing process estimates and contribute to Statements of Work (SOWs) for product industrialization activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, manufacturing plants, and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
- Drive supplier activities, technical requirements, and project timelines to support launch objectives.
- Utilize data-driven analysis to support engineering decisions and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, internal quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost optimization.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, you should bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1-2 years of experience building, improving, repairing, or developing manufacturing equipment, fixtures, or processes.
- 1-2 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to visualize manufacturing processes and understand component interactions.
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, NX, or similar design tools.
- Ability to translate ideas into technical concepts, CAD models, prototypes, and production-ready solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project execution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
- CAM software such as Mastercam, Trumpf TruTops, or similar platforms.
- Automated manufacturing equipment design and implementation.
- Ultrasonic welding technologies.
- Laser cutting and laser welding processes.
- Electrical connector component design or assembly processes.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies.
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Advanced manufacturing automation and industrialization projects.
- Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Project, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Full-time on-site role based at the Champion Technical Center in Warren, Ohio.
- Combination of office, laboratory, manufacturing facility, and supplier/customer interaction.
- Up to 10% travel may be required to support manufacturing plants, supplier assessments, technology evaluations, and project activities.
- Hands-on involvement in prototype development, testing, tooling validation, and production support activities.
