Food Service Worker - Per Diem

Beloit Health System is looking to add Per Diem Food Service Workers to our Team!

- Shift: 1st and 2nd shifts available

- Schedule: 5:30a-2p / 6:30a-3p / 11:30a-8p / 3p-8p

- Hours per week: Varied – Per Diem

- Benefits Status: Not Eligible

- Department: Dietary

The Food Service Worker supports the hospital's mission of providing exceptional patient care by preparing, assembling, delivering, and serving meals in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner. This position plays an important role in ensuring patients, visitors, and staff receive high-quality food service while maintaining compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

- Prepare and assemble patient meals according to diet orders and meal schedules.

- Deliver meal trays to patient rooms and collect trays following meal service.

- Assist patients courteously and communicate meal-related concerns to appropriate staff.

- Serve food and beverages in the cafeteria, coffee shop, or other food service areas as assigned.

- Operate cash register and process transactions accurately, if applicable.

- Stock food, beverages, supplies, and service areas.

- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and food service equipment.

- Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining, food preparation, and storage areas.

- Follow proper food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures.

- Assist with food preparation and portioning under the direction of dietary staff.

- Maintain compliance with hospital safety standards, infection prevention practices, and food safety regulations.

- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and sanitation concerns promptly.

- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
