SAP PP MRP Functional Consultant
Responsibilities:- Review the current setup and outcomes from planning for execution at the plant site.- Identify opportunities or gaps to help resolve material shortages.- Conduct a current-state planning flow assessment.- Perform root-cause analysis of shortages attributable to supply lateness, planning logic, inventory accuracy, and master data quality.- Develop tactical short-term operating methods to minimize material shortages.- Provide operational, configuration, and custom development recommendations.- Estimate effort and cost for remediation options.
Required Skills:- Deep, hands-on experience with SAP ECC Production Planning (PP).- Proficiency in ATP and MRP configuration, including MRP groups, MRP1–4 views, lead-time scheduling, and MRP group-level confirmation settings.- Working fluency with Full vs. Partial Confirmation Logic and its interaction with component availability checks.- Practical experience with planned order firming behavior and its implications.- Ability to evaluate configuration, process, and custom-development alternatives, including BAPI-based automation.- Capability to audit existing shortage reports and confirm their logic. Adjacent Skills:- Literacy in MD04/MD11/MD12 exception messages.- Change-management instincts to differentiate between habitual and deliberate firming. Seniority Level:- Senior SAP PP functional consultant or architect, with experience in designing or correcting constraint-aware scheduling logic.
