The Elevator Pitch

Job Title: Accounts Manager, Collegiate Athletics

College athletics brings together some of the most passionate communities, recognizable brands, and high-energy live events in the country. Behind every game day is a complex operation dedicated to creating an experience that feels exciting, welcoming, and safe for fans, students, athletes, employees, and guests.

Evolv is looking for a relationship-driven, entrepreneurial sales professional to help expand our presence across collegiate athletics.

In this role, you will build trusted relationships with athletic departments, conferences, collegiate venues, campus safety leaders, and university decision-makers. You will help these partners explore how Evolv can support safer, more efficient venue entry while preserving the open and welcoming experience that makes college sports special.

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage an established book of business. You will help build the market.

You will identify high-potential universities and conferences, create executive relationships, generate pipeline, and lead complex opportunities from initial outreach through close. Success will require the energy of a new-business seller, the credibility of a trusted advisor, and an authentic appreciation for the traditions, relationships, and operational realities of collegiate athletics.

What Does Success in the Role Look Like?

In the first 30 days, you will:

- Develop a strong understanding of Evolv’s solutions, customer value propositions, sales methodology, CRM expectations, and collegiate athletics use cases.

- Learn how athletic departments and universities approach venue operations, fan experience, campus safety, procurement, budgeting, and technology decisions.

- Partner with sales leadership to identify priority conferences, universities, venues, and strategic relationships within your territory.

- Build an initial stakeholder map that includes athletic directors, facilities and event operations leaders, campus safety professionals, procurement teams, finance and legal partners, and executive sponsors.

- Establish strong working relationships with Evolv’s Marketing, Customer Success, Product, Finance, Legal, and broader go-to-market teams.

.

Within 90 days, you will:

- Develop and begin executing a focused territory and account plan for the collegiate athletics market.

- Prioritize the universities, conferences, and venues with the strongest potential for partnership.

- Build qualified pipeline through targeted outreach, industry relationships, referrals, executive networking, events, partners, and account-based campaigns.

- Lead thoughtful discovery conversations focused on venue operations, entry processes, fan experience, safety objectives, event calendars, procurement requirements, and budget cycles.

- Begin developing internal champions and mapping the decision-making process within priority accounts.

- Use demonstrations, customer examples, operational insights, and compelling business cases to advance opportunities.

Within the first 12 months you will:

- Build a healthy and measurable pipeline across priority collegiate athletics accounts.

- Meet or exceed the revenue expectations established for your territory.

- Advance and close complex opportunities while maintaining pricing integrity, CRM discipline, and forecast accuracy.

- Establish yourself as a trusted partner to athletic departments, university leaders, conferences, and collegiate venue stakeholders.

- Become an internal expert on the collegiate athletics market, sharing customer needs, operational realities, competitive insights, and emerging opportunities.

- Help create repeatable playbooks for university-level, conference-level, and venue-level growth.

What You Will Own

- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for assigned collegiate athletics accounts and territories.

- Manage the complete new-business sales process, from account identification and relationship development through discovery, demonstration, business case creation, proposal, negotiation, and close.

- Build authentic relationships with athletic directors, deputy and associate athletic directors, venue and facilities leaders, event operations teams, campus safety professionals, procurement groups, finance and legal partners, conference representatives, and university executives.

- Understand each institution’s priorities, traditions, operating environment, event calendar, decision-making structure, and approach to fan and guest experience.

- Help prospective customers define their requirements, quantify potential value, and evaluate how Evolv could support safer and more efficient venue operations.

- Navigate complex buying committees and create alignment among stakeholders with different priorities.

- Develop executive sponsors and internal champions who can help move opportunities forward.

- Create clear account plans, stakeholder maps, close plans, and mutual action plans for priority opportunities.

- Collaborate with Marketing on targeted campaigns, events, thought leadership, and market-development programs.

- Partner with Product, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and implementation teams to create a strong customer experience from initial engagement through launch.

- Represent Evolv at collegiate athletics, venue management, sports business, safety, security, and higher-education events.

- Maintain accurate and timely opportunity data, next steps, forecasts, and customer insights in Salesforce.

- Share market intelligence that helps Evolv refine its strategy and strengthen its presence across collegiate athletics.

What You Bring?

- Successful experience in new-business sales, business development, corporate partnerships, strategic accounts, or another revenue-generating role.

- A demonstrated ability to build pipeline and convert relationships into measurable business opportunities.

- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and formal procurement processes.

- The ability to communicate credibly with both operational teams and senior executives.

- Strong discovery, presentation, negotiation, business writing, and storytelling skills.

- The judgment to understand when to move quickly, when to listen, and when to invest in a longer-term relationship.

- Experience developing territory plans, account strategies, stakeholder maps, and close plans.

- Strong CRM discipline and comfort being accountable for pipeline quality, next steps, and forecast accuracy.

- The independence and resourcefulness to operate effectively in a remote, high-growth environment.

- The collaborative mindset to bring the right internal partners into an opportunity at the right time.

- Alignment with Evolv’s values: Do the right thing, always; Put people first; Own it; Win together; and Be bold, stay curious.

Particularly relevant experience may include:

- Collegiate athletics, conferences, multimedia rights, sponsorships, ticketing, premium seating, or corporate partnerships.

- Sports and entertainment venues, live events, facilities, or guest experience.

- Higher education or campus-wide technology solutions.

- Safety, security, venue operations, or public-safety technology.

- Selling solutions that require coordination among operations, technology, finance, procurement, legal, and executive leadership.

- Direct collegiate athletics experience is highly valued, but it is not the only path to success. We are equally interested in candidates who have built meaningful relationships and closed complex opportunities within similarly interconnected markets.

Leadership and Team Culture

You will report to either our Vice President of Sports and Entertainment, depending on the final structure of the team.

You will join a collaborative and ambitious group that believes the best results come from building trust, sharing information, following through on commitments, and winning together.

We work hard, enjoy the work, and care deeply about Evolv’s mission. You will have the autonomy to shape your territory, along with the partnership and support of colleagues across the organization.

Location and Travel

This remote position is based in Texas, with a preference for candidates near Dallas who can travel efficiently throughout the territory. Preference will be given to candidates located near a major airport who can travel efficiently to universities, conferences, events, and customer locations.

Travel is expected to average approximately 50% to 80%, depending on the season, territory, and customer activity.

College athletics does not operate exclusively during traditional business hours. This role will require flexibility to attend games, events, demonstrations, industry gatherings, and customer meetings during some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The person who thrives in this position will view being present in the market as an important and energizing part of building lasting partnerships.
