About this role
Job Purpose:
- The Emergency Evaluation (BA) primarily provides assessments and intervention services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and/or seeking substance abuse detoxification services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients presenting in crisis to determine the nature and severity of their behavioral health needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement crisis intervention plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Provide immediate support and stabilization services to clients experiencing acute behavioral health issues.
- Document client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with center policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other stakeholders to ensure understanding of evaluation outcomes and recommended interventions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in crisis intervention and behavioral health care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to emergency behavioral health evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in the provision of emergency behavioral health services.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree in human services or related field required
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health or emergency evaluation settings.
- Experience working in a crisis intervention role, preferably within a healthcare or community service environment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate emergency situations and determine appropriate interventions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in using electronic health records and other relevant software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all professional interactions.
- Flexibility to work shift hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
