Job Title: Environmental Technician (Cylinder Project) Job Description
The Environmental Technician is responsible for the consolidation, treatment, storage, packing, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste while adhering to environmentally responsible and compliant practices, policies, and procedures. This role requires maintaining detailed and accurate records and completing required documentation accurately, timely, and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies.
Responsibilities
- Inspect materials and perform wastewater treatment and material sorting.
- Provide facility services as needed.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
- Ability to perform hazardous waste disposal and wear protective gear (respirator, hard hat, chemical-resistant gloves).
- Experience with Hazwoper, general labor, and site cleanup.
- Capability to work outdoors in all seasons.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience working outdoors during all seasons.
- Forklift operation experience.
- Visual acuity to read labels and documentation.
- Depth perception and ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
- HAZWOPER Certification is a plus.
Work Environment
This position operates outdoors year-round, requiring the use of full personal protective equipment at all times. Employees will work in varying weather conditions and must be comfortable with potential disorganization during the training process, which includes both online modules and job shadowing. The training period may take 2-3 weeks before independent work on-site. Shift hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

This is a Contract position based out of Tacoma, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $23.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
