Vice President, Boise Front End Manufacturing Operations

Location: Boise, Idaho
Reports To: Senior Vice President, Global Front End Operations

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Global Front End Operations, the Vice President, Boise Front End Manufacturing Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of Micron's Boise front-end manufacturing operations. This leader owns the safe, efficient, and predictable execution of all manufacturing activities while ensuring alignment with company objectives, technology roadmaps, customer requirements, and long-term capacity strategies.

The Vice President serves as the senior operational leader for Boise manufacturing and is accountable for operational excellence across safety, quality, yield, cycle time, cost, delivery, workforce capability, and capacity utilization. As a member of the Global Front End Operations Leadership Team, the VP partners closely with Technology Development, Engineering, Business Units, Supply Chain, Procurement, Facilities, Quality, Finance, Human Resources, and peer manufacturing sites to drive world-class manufacturing performance and enterprise-wide outcomes.

This leader will play a critical role in shaping the future of advanced semiconductor manufacturing through the deployment of next-generation technologies, automation, digital manufacturing capabilities, AI-enabled operations, and large-scale capacity expansions.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations Leadership

- Provide executive leadership for all Boise front-end manufacturing operations, ensuring world-class execution against safety, quality, delivery, cost, yield, and productivity objectives.
- Drive operational excellence through disciplined management systems, performance accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure stable, predictable, and high-performing fab operations while meeting customer commitments and business requirements.
- Anticipate, identify, and mitigate operational risks before they impact performance, output, quality, or customer delivery.
- Lead efforts to maximize equipment utilization, manufacturing efficiency, output performance, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Partner with planning and supply chain organizations to ensure alignment between production commitments, capacity, materials availability, and customer demand.
- Deliver sustainable improvements in productivity, cycle time, yield, reliability, and manufacturing cost structure.

Strategy, Capacity, and Execution

- Establish and continuously evolve the Boise manufacturing strategy to support business growth, technology transitions, and long-range corporate objectives.
- Own manufacturing readiness and operational execution for new technology introductions, node transitions, and process transfers.
- Lead capacity planning, ramp execution, resource allocation, and investment prioritization to support business unit requirements.
- Drive successful execution of capacity expansion initiatives while maintaining operational stability and financial discipline.
- Ensure equipment, facilities, workforce, and material readiness to support planned growth and output requirements.
- Benchmark performance against leading semiconductor and advanced manufacturing organizations, identifying opportunities to achieve and exceed best-in-class performance.
- Champion innovative approaches that leverage advanced analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital manufacturing technologies to improve operational outcomes.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

- Establish and reinforce a culture where safety, environmental stewardship, ethics, and compliance are fundamental operating principles.
- Maintain executive accountability for all safety, environmental, regulatory, and quality management systems within Boise operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and industry regulations.
- Lead efforts to achieve world-class performance in employee safety, environmental responsibility, and operational risk management.
- Maintain audit readiness and drive continuous improvement of quality systems, operational controls, and compliance processes.

Enterprise and Stakeholder Leadership

- Serve as the primary manufacturing executive for Boise operations and a key advisor to executive leadership.
- Partner with Technology Development, Process Integration, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, Procurement, Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, and Business Units to achieve strategic objectives.
- Align site priorities, resources, and operational objectives with company-wide manufacturing and business goals.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to accelerate innovation, improve execution, and optimize enterprise performance.
- Provide clear and transparent communication regarding operational performance, risks, opportunities, investment requirements, and strategic initiatives.
- Promote best-practice sharing and operational standardization across Micron's global manufacturing network.

Digital Manufacturing and Transformation

- Lead the deployment of smart manufacturing capabilities across Boise operations.
- Advance the use of automation, predictive analytics, AI/ML, digital twins, and real-time operational intelligence to improve decision-making and execution.
- Drive manufacturing digitization initiatives that increase productivity, improve predictability, reduce costs, and enhance operational agility.
- Foster a culture that embraces innovation, technology adoption, and data-driven decision-making.

Talent and Organizational Leadership

- Build and develop a world-class manufacturing leadership team capable of supporting current and future business needs.
- Create a culture defined by high performance, accountability, inclusion, collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning.
- Attract, develop, mentor, and retain exceptional leadership and technical talent.
- Establish robust succession plans and leadership pipelines for critical manufacturing roles.
- Ensure workforce readiness to support future technology transitions, capacity expansions, and organizational growth.
- Champion employee engagement and strengthen Micron's reputation as an employer of choice within the semiconductor industry.

Qualifications

Experience

- Fifteen-plus years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including significant executive leadership responsibility within semiconductor manufacturing or similarly complex, capital-intensive industries.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale wafer fabrication operations, advanced manufacturing environments, major technology transitions, and capacity expansion initiatives.
- Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, yield, throughput, cycle time, cost, reliability, and operational performance.
- Experience managing large organizations and leading through periods of rapid growth, transformation, and organizational complexity.
- Strong business and financial acumen, including capital planning, operational budgeting, productivity improvement, cost optimization, and return-on-investment decision-making.
- Experience leveraging automation, advanced analytics, AI/ML, and smart manufacturing methodologies to improve operational effectiveness and business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and effectively partner with executive stakeholders, technical leaders, customers, suppliers, and external partners.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline required.
- Master's degree, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred.
