POSITION TITLE : PEM Facilitator
REPORTS TO : Senior Director of Health Impact
HOURLY WAGE : $24.72
FSLA Classifications: Non Exempt, Full Time
General Responsibility: Facilitate Parent Engagement Meetings (PEMs) to address truancy and educational neglect issues with the overarching goal of assisting families with barriers leading to a family experiencing education neglect issues.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate discussion in PEM meetings in the NKCAC service area including but not limited to Kenton, Boone, and Scott County School Districts.
- Act as a neutral part among the PEM participants
- Utilize a strengths-based approach while facilitating PEMs
- Assist in scheduling PEMs with the school district
- Discuss truancy issues, identify family strengths, and assess concerns and needs during PEMs
- Brainstorm ideas to address concern and needs
- Develop action plan- which will include follow-up process
- Maintain confidentiality throughout the PEM process
- Comply with all data entry and data reporting requirements
- Attend all required trainings and state meetings required by the position
- Abide by the CCC guidelines
- Provide monthly reports by the 1st of each month to Supervisor
- Travel to schools within NKCAC service area for PEMs
- Ability to manage time and maintain schedule to ensure appropriate time for travel and paperwork
- All duties deemed necessary
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Services, OR
- Bachelors Degree in an area outside of Human Services, AND have at least one year experience providing in-home services, OR
- Have two years of experience providing in-home services that includes providing parent education for children and families.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to relate to persons of various socio-economic backgrounds
- Reliable transportation.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to bend, lift up to 50 pounds and engage in a full range of motion
- Ability to sit, read, and type at a computer for up to 8 hours a per day
