Sales Manager - M&J Valves
Location: Houston, Westplain Campus
Work Environment: Remote w/ up to 70% travel
Work Schedule/Hours: Normal Business Hours
Pay Range: Up to 120k+ - plus sales incentive plan
This role could be referred to as a Sales Engineering role. If you have experience in valve and valve related products, a strong technical aptitude and are a true hunter with the ability to establish relationships based on trust and credibility, this position offers you several compelling opportunities.

We're looking for a proven industrial valve sales professional who wants to take the bull by the horns and make an impact. Your key objectives will include:
- Building and maintaining customer relationships in the region.
- Creating demand for the organization's products and services by raising their profile with customers.
- Achieving revenue targets by increasing revenue spend per account.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Promoting and selling valve and valve related products and services, directly to current and new customers utilizing value selling techniques.
- Owning your assigned geographic territory and/or customer relationships; working it with pride and ingenuity, as if it were your own business.
- Meeting and/or exceeding assigned targets for both product and territory
- Creating, monitoring, and revising lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline.
- Engaging with the organization to qualify opportunities.
- Pursue and review inquiries from clients for New Valve/OE M&J Valves.
- Pursue and review inquiries from clients for Aftermarket parts and services for M&J Valves and field services opportunities to support our Aftermarket Operations.
- Informing customers of new products/value streams and/or service introductions and prices.
- Helping develop colleagues’ understanding, as needed/requested.
- In addition to these requirements, you must be able to travel overnight up to 70%.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong sales skills with the ability to handle high-volume sales and quoting.
- Understanding of complex selling process and sales cycle.
- End-user driven sales focus.
- Ability to understand and work with distribution where required.
- Excellent account management skills combined with the ability to generate and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of business, financials, products & services.
- A technical mindset with the ability to understand the needs of the customer.
- Have or ability to achieve subject-matter-expertise in a specific area.
- Ability and skill to set and negotiate terms.
- Persistence, tenacity and fortitude to break into new accountants.
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience selling pipeline valves OR 10 years of experience selling aftermarket valve services.
- A bachelor’s degree, ideally in a technical field is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of midstream and downstream Oil and Gas markets.
- Basic understanding of AP16D code.
- Experience selling to the Oil & Gas or Power Utility industries is highly preferred.
