Systems Test Engineer

Job Title: Systems Test Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a Systems Test Engineer to join our team engaged in the maintenance of ships for the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) program. This role involves planning and executing test events, developing test cases, and ensuring product validation and verification.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute test events.
- Write test plans and test procedures to verify and validate products.
- Analyze requirements and contribute to the development of traceability matrices.
- Develop test cases.
- Collaborate with System and Software Engineering teams to identify and analyze defects.
- Raise project issues or risks and track them to resolution.
- Provide test reports and status updates on test activities.
- Deploy methodologies, tools, and platforms necessary for test activities.
- Adhere to test guidelines and internal company processes.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in systems test engineering, including DOORS, systems engineering, and V&V (Verification and Validation).
- Experience with electronics (SW/HW) and test engineering.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in IV&V or a related field.
- Experience with IBM DOORS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Test case development and execution, either manual or automated.
- System level testing (Verification, Validation, Integration).
- Requirements analysis.
- Familiarity with test management tools.
- Experience handling and working on physical systems, products, or equipment.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a flexible schedule of 2-3 days on-site. The role requires adherence to guidelines and processes, utilizing various test methodologies and tools.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Ottawa, ON.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Workplace Type
This is a hybrid position in Ottawa,ON.
