Senior Manager, Supply Management

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Supply Management leads the end-to-end supply management strategy and execution for PSI and CUU. This role is accountable for creating one integrated operating model across the two sites, strengthening purchasing and supplier-management processes, improving material flow, reducing supply risk, and ensuring the right material is available at the right time, quantity, quality, and total cost.

The position partners closely with site leadership, Materials and Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Customer Service, and enterprise supply-chain resources. Success requires a hands-on, data-driven leader who can stabilize daily execution while building scalable processes, talent, supplier capability, and long-term supply resilience.

Key Accountabilities

PSI and CUU Supply Leadership

·     Provide strategic and day-to-day supply management leadership across PSI and CUU, aligning priorities, standard work, metrics, and escalation paths.

·     Build a cohesive cross-site operating rhythm that connects demand, purchasing, supplier commitments, production requirements, intercompany material flow, and customer priorities.

·     Act as the senior supply-management escalation point for shortages, supplier constraints, late material, quality holds, outside processing, and cross-border flow issues.

·     Balance immediate recovery actions with sustainable process improvements that strengthen both sites.

Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier Performance

·     Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies for raw materials, castings, machined components, outside processing, MRO, and other critical categories.

·     Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contracting support, performance management, development, and risk mitigation in partnership with Strategic Sourcing and Quality.

·     Establish clear supplier expectations and recovery plans for delivery, quality, lead time, capacity, responsiveness, and cost.

·     Drive supplier OTD, past-due reduction, lead-time improvement, cost productivity, and continuity of supply.

·     Ensure buyers and expeditors maintain accurate purchase-order dates, priorities, acknowledgments, and escalation records in the ERP system.

Material Availability and Cross-Site Flow

·     Own supply execution required to support executable build plans, production schedules, shipment commitments, and revenue objectives at PSI and CUU.

·     Improve the flow of purchased and intercompany material between CUU, PSI, outside processors, and other suppliers, including direct-purchase and direct-ship opportunities where appropriate.

·     Coordinate with Planning and Operations to identify shortages early, establish recovery actions, and communicate business impact and trade-offs.

·     Partner with Quality and Engineering to accelerate supplier corrective actions, receiving-quality disposition, rework, deviation, and qualification activities without compromising compliance.

·     Develop contingency plans for sole-source, long-lead, constrained, and high-risk materials.

Inventory and Working Capital

·     Lead inventory optimization across raw material, purchased components, WIP interfaces, outside processing, and intercompany supply.

·     Drive disciplined review of excess and obsolete inventory, safety stock, order quantities, lead times, purchase-price variance, and supplier stocking strategies.

·     Partner with Finance and site leadership to improve inventory turns, reduce aged and inactive inventory, and maintain appropriate controls over material transactions.

·     Establish governance for cycle-count findings, blocked or nonconforming material, and supplier-related inventory exposure.

Operating System, Analytics, and Continuous Improvement

·     Establish a cross-site supply management scorecard and tiered review cadence covering delivery, shortages, past due, supplier quality, inventory, cost, and recovery actions.

·     Use ERP data, dashboards, and structured problem solving to identify root causes, prioritize work, and improve decision speed and accountability.

·     Lead kaizen events, value-stream analysis, process standardization, and digital improvements that simplify purchasing and material-flow processes.

·     Support SIOP, annual operating planning, capacity reviews, and business reviews with clear supply assumptions, risks, scenarios, and actions.

·     Ensure data integrity and consistent master-data practices related to suppliers, purchase orders, lead times, sourcing rules, and planning parameters.

Leadership and Talent Development

·     Lead, coach, and develop supply management team members supporting PSI and CUU, including buyers, expeditors, receiving or outside-processing interfaces, and other assigned resources.

·     Set clear goals, define decision rights, conduct performance and development discussions, and build succession and capability plans.

·     Create standard work and cross-training to reduce key-person dependency and improve coverage across sites and categories.

·     Promote a culture of safety, quality, urgency, transparency, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Compliance and Governance

·     Ensure purchasing and supplier-management activities follow company policies, delegated authority, quality-system requirements, customer obligations, and applicable trade and export-control requirements.

·     Partner with Quality to maintain supplier controls appropriate for a highly regulated aerospace environment.

·     Protect confidential information and maintain accurate records supporting internal, customer, and regulatory audits.

·     Perform other duties as assigned.

·     Supplier on-time delivery and past-due reduction

·     PSI-CUU intercompany flow, throughput, and execution alignment

·     Inventory turns, excess and obsolete inventory, and working-capital performance

·     Supplier quality, corrective-action closure, and receiving-quality aging

·     Purchase-price productivity, cost avoidance, and total-cost improvement

·     ERP data accuracy, purchase-order discipline, and action closure

Job Requirements

·     Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.

·     Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, materials, sourcing, supplier management, or manufacturing operations.

·     Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with responsibility for teams, cross-functional execution, and complex business priorities.

·     Demonstrated experience leading multi-site or cross-site supply-chain activities in a manufacturing environment.

·     Strong knowledge of procurement, supplier performance, material planning interfaces, inventory management, ERP/MRP systems, and working-capital drivers.

·     Experience managing constrained supply, long-lead material, supplier recovery, and complex material-flow issues.

·     Demonstrated success using data, KPIs, and structured problem solving to improve delivery, inventory, cost, and supplier performance.

·     Ability to influence across functions, sites, cultures, and organizational levels, including executive-level communication.

·     Ability to travel regularly between PSI and CUU and to supplier locations as business needs require.

·     Restrictions imposed by applicable export-control laws may limit eligibility for this position or require authorization for access to controlled products, technology, or technical data.

Preferred Qualifications

·     Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.

·     APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM or CSCP, or supply-management certification such as CPSM.

·     Experience in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated, high-mix manufacturing environment.

·     Experience with supplier development, outside processing, cross-border supply chains, and Mexico-U.S. material flows.

·     Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving certification or demonstrated practical experience.

·     Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, analytics, and business-intelligence tools.

·     Bilingual English and Spanish capability.
