Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.

To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

What You'll Do

- Manage BCG's U.S. employment litigation docket across a range of matter types, including single-plaintiff and representative actions involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and restrictive covenant enforcement.
- Own litigation strategy in coordination with outside counsel — from intake and early case evaluation through discovery, dispositive motions, and resolution.
- Lead discovery management, including litigation holds, document collection and review, e-discovery workflows, and production, serving as the primary internal point of contact across those processes.
- Select, supervise, and evaluate outside counsel; manage matter budgets, review invoices for compliance with BCG's outside counsel guidelines, and hold firms accountable for strategic and financial discipline.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and communications partner to HR and business stakeholders throughout the matter lifecycle - translating legal risk into clear, actionable guidance and ensuring business partners feel informed, supported, and prepared.
- Act as an advisory and coordination resource for employment disputes arising outside the United States, partnering with regional employment counsel and local outside counsel to support consistent approach and risk management across BCG's global footprint. Deep expertise in the laws of every jurisdiction is not expected; the ability to quickly absorb complex cross-border issues and coordinate effectively across a global team is.
- Contribute to building and improving BCG's litigation infrastructure, including intake and triage processes, reporting, settlement protocols, and leadership updates.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

- Providing strategic, commercially grounded, and outcome-focused advice - concise and clear, with the ability to quickly identify the crux of a matter and move it forward.
- Managing a high-volume docket with rigor and calm, balancing competing priorities without losing attention to detail or quality.
- Building genuine partnerships with HR, Finance, and senior business stakeholders, particularly in sensitive or high-stakes situations where they are looking to you for both legal guidance and steadiness.
- Working independently and with initiative while integrating seamlessly into a collaborative global team, with comfort operating across loosely structured, consensus-driven environments.
- Absorbing new legal frameworks quickly and applying sound judgment in cross-border matters without needing to be an expert in every local law.

What You'll Bring

- J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction where BCG operates.
- Minimum 8–10 years of employment litigation experience, with meaningful in-house experience strongly preferred. Candidates with exclusively law firm backgrounds will be considered where their experience reflects genuine strategic ownership of matters.
- Demonstrated track record defending employment claims across multiple U.S. states, including jurisdictions with complex employment frameworks. Experience in California, New York, Illinois, or Massachusetts is particularly relevant to BCG's footprint.
- Hands-on experience managing outside counsel - directing strategy, managing budgets, and making real-time decisions on approach and escalation.
- Strong command of federal and state discovery rules and e-discovery best practices.
- Experience with, or genuine comfort navigating, employment matters outside the United States. Familiarity with European, APAC, or Latin American employment frameworks is valued, though not required.
- Gravitas to influence and persuade senior stakeholders, paired with the interpersonal skills to build trust across a global organization.
- A sense of humor, a positive outlook, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
