This Repair/Mechanical Engineer role will be supporting a long-term service contract of a major Customer site. You will be responsible for Leading/Coordinating & Executing activities when needed typically in the context of daily shop operations or services to fulfil a customer order or need.
As a Shop Repair/Mechanical Engineer , you will be responsible for:
- All rotor shop works (inspection, breakdown, repairs, rebuilding, balancing, reports, etc) in accordance with the Repair Network standards.
- All HDGT NDT & CBMO inspections, reports and repairs where necessary for capital parts (Liners, TPs, Diaphragms, Nozzles, casings, etc) in accordance with the Repair Network standards.
- Gas valve refurbishment works (disassembly, inspections, assembly, function testing, reports, etc) in accordance with the Repair Network standards.
- ·Monitoring and tracking of customer BH equipment (fired hours, capital parts history, outages, parts in-parts out, R1 Blade replacement history).
- Advising the turbine refurbishment team on which capital parts to use for the assembly based on inspection results, upcoming maintenance schedules and equipment running hours.
- Representing the shop as a general focal point for all repair activity with the network for challenges, upgrades, improvements, idea generation and general shop feedback.
- Creating the routings for the inspection and repair activities according to standard configurator and REI. Select and add all the technical applicable documents on the router job by job.
- Creating non-standard routings according to SSR, NCRs disposition or approved change order.
- Creating check forms related to each job using the check form web tool.
- Creating preliminary and final reports to customers using the customer report web tool.
- ·Managing shop technical issues through the standards of the repair network through applicable technical documents (REI, ITN, etc).
- ·Managing SSR and NCR as per network applicable procedures, supporting the quality team during technical investigations/analysis (NCA, RCA, Lesson learned, etc).
- Supporting the shop qualification process in collaboration with the Quality Lead by creating work instructions, providing technical directives and all required execution action items.
- Supporting the shop and CSA team as a presenter or reviewer in technical job reviews both internal (example: RAC) and external (example: meeting with Customer) when required.
- Supporting the material manager, planner & CPM for identifying advance spares for new job orders and tracking the repair of capital parts in foreign component repair shops when required.
- Leading the safe works of the repairs department consisting of operators/inspectors to guarantee a high-quality output product and completion of all report documents in an efficient manner.
- Ensuring the completeness of the check forms in terms of data availability, accuracy, professionalism and the data quality of the document’s internals.
- Driving the culture and mindset of the inspectors to highlight any type of non-conformance, report quality concerns, leverage on “stop work authority” process to stop the line and reduce escaping defects.
- Ensuring 100% compliance with applicable QMS/HSE procedures of the repairs department.
- Leading technical support to the shop floor, provide support in case of JSAs, support in coordinating P&E projects (including focus on CO2 reduction) and new repair related equipment.
- Supporting the shop and CoE team on Routers/Check form optimization with a focus on the continuous improvement of efficiency and quality.
- Coordinating the Manufacturing Engineers/Repair Engineer team (Inspectors) to deliver their tasks receiving the input from the planning team with focus on key metrics including HSE, Quality & OTD (On Time Delivery) performance, cost reduction.
- Supporting the Manufacturing Engineers team on resolution of technical issues, be the reference point to the Repair Engineering network team to review, understand and modify the REI (Repair Engineer Instructions) document.
- ·Supporting the evaluation of idea generation or other ideas/suggestions from shop floor.
- ·Supporting as a technical reference point for COE team to support network procedures review, modifications, technical alert explanation, shop digital tool implementation (Check form and customer report web tool and other applicable shop tools.)
- Supporting the Quality team on NCRs analysis and\or resolution, NCA\RCA execution, station audits and the technical analysis of the QMS procedure
- Managing SSR and NCR cases as per applicable procedure, support quality team during technical investigation/analysis of NCA, RCA, lesson learned and station audits.
- Creating and reviewing department work instructions as necessary for continuous improvement.
- Supporting the sales team in preparation of the technical scope of work for estimation for CSA customer proposals, RFQs and advise on the appropriate inspectors of the team for task execution.
- Supporting the material manager for identifying advance spares for new job orders when required.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Inspection, Repairs and Reliability or Quality Assurance/Control field of the oil & gas industry.
- Certification in the field inspections such as NDT
- Have good interpersonal skills, inclusive working style and able to effectively interface with all levels of internal organization and external customers.
- Have a strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
- Have strong supervisory skills to work with execution teams during critical projects with a dedicated timeline.
