About the Team:

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior-level technologist and a pivotal force within Citi's Enterprise Operations & Technology organization. This is not a role for those content with the status quo — it is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of deep technical expertise and enterprise-scale impact. The ideal candidate brings a commanding command of modern application development, a sharp analytical mind capable of navigating complex system architectures, and the vision to translate business imperatives into resilient, future-ready technology solutions. In this capacity, the successful candidate will operate as both a hands-on practitioner and a trusted thought partner to cross-functional management teams, engineering leads, and technology architects. They will drive the full lifecycle of application development — from identifying system enhancements that unlock new products and process efficiencies, to setting the standards by which code is written, tested, and deployed at scale. Their influence will extend beyond their immediate team, as they serve as a subject matter authority and coach to mid-level developers and analysts, elevating the technical caliber of those around them while ensuring every solution aligns with Citi's architectural blueprint and risk management standards.

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst will be instrumental in advancing Citi's mission to deliver secure, reliable, and innovative services to clients across more than 160 countries. Responsibilities:

- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements

- Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards

- Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint

- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation

- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals

- Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

- Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary

- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in application development or Systems Analysis , with a proven track record of delivering complex, enterprise-grade software solutions

- Extensive experience in Software Application Programming and Systems Analysis , with demonstrated ability to own technical deliverables end-to-end across the full software development lifecycle

- Deep proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot , with demonstrable experience building scalable, maintainable, and high-performance enterprise applications in regulated environments

- Hands-on experience with messaging and event-streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and IBM MQ , including designing and implementing reliable, high-throughput, event-driven architectures

- Proficiency working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB , including data modeling, schema design, query optimization, and integration with distributed application systems

- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Devin to accelerate engineering workflows , improve code quality, and solve complex technical problems more efficiently

- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions that adhere to enterprise architecture blueprints, coding standards, and technology governance frameworks

- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one domain of Applications Development, with the ability to provide authoritative technical guidance and influence solution design decisions

- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD , with experience a utomating build, test, and deployment workflows to support continuous delivery

- Strong knowledge leveraging AI tools to make development more efficient.

- Demonstrated ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate and manage concurrent technical workstreams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Education:

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Master's degree preferred

## Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$113,840.00 - $170,760.00
