A Day in the Life of a Foreman at RWC!

Be part of designing your community! From the bustling downtown core all the way to Northern British Columbia you will be championing the installation of walls and ceilings at our client sites. Our previous and current locations include Amazon HQ, YVR Airport, University of British Columbia, Parq Casino, Emily Carr University, Willowbrook Mall, Royal Columbian Hospital, New Saint Paul's Hospital and much more! The Foreman plays a crucial role in managing the company’s resources to increase productivity, quality and safety. You will be encouraging staff to always put their best foot forward to ensure all our job sites are safe.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision

· Act in a professional manner in all situations that arise

· Have the well-being of RWC and the safety of its employee’s in mind at all times

· Perform, oversee and delegate site layout

· Attend daily or weekly site meetings as required

· Learn to perform onsite material & quantity take-off’s if required

· Ability to perform all jobs on the work site (Including but not limited to; steel stud framing, drywall, and suspended drywall systems, T-bar & shafts)

· Amplify the principles of a respectful workplace on each site

· Enforce all General Contractor guidelines and regulations as well as compliance with all of RWC safety requirements

· Promote the importance of consistent safety procedures and proper use of all equipment used on site, enforcing a culture of safety at all times

· Promote and carry out all RWC Company’s values which include quality, integrity and productivity at all times

· Assist with required safety paperwork is completed in Salus as mandated by the RWC standards and COR requirements

· Assist crew members to follow project and or company policies and procedures

· Maintain a safe work site by instructing crews how to use tools and equipment, how to handle materials and what safety equipment is necessary when performing tasks

· Educate and instruct employees on safe work practices Planning and Scheduling

· Ability to effectively assign tasks to crews as coordinated by site Foreman

· Ability to learn to read and comprehend project/engineered and shop drawings

Employee Relations

· Remain up to date with all of RWC developments and ensure information is communicated to all crew members

· Able to recognize, address and resolve issues that arise on site and or between crew members

· Report all absences and employee issues to PnC and field superintendent.

· Promote, support and facilitate teamwork between all crew members

Quality Control

· Estimate time durations for changes with site Foreman

· Document all trade damages using the PlanGrid system

· Submit up to date QC check lists at the beginning and end of each scope of work.

Administration

· Learn to enter hours of work for crew members, ensuring information is entered by 11:00 on the following day

· Learn to review and approve sub contractor spread sheets (hourly and piecework).

· Learn to input daily reports in Plexxis.

· Follow all of RWC safety reporting responsibilities

· Learn to perform Time & Materials work using EWA's in Plexxis

· Learn to enter packing slip information in Plexxis for tracking purposes, including checking all deliveries and verifying quantities that are actually delivered, this task may be delegated

· Learn to complete quarterly tool control

Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications and Experience

Required

· 5–7 years of relevant trade experience.

· Hold or pursuing a Red Seal certification.

· Valid Level 1 First Aid certification.

· Boom and Scissor Lift certification.

· Fall Protection certification.

· Supervisor Responsibility Training.

· Strong command of the English language.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

· Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office email and use of tablets (iPad).

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

· Construction-site

· Working conditions can vary greatly depending upon the projects assigned to. Majority of work will be outside or in non-enclosed areas, often resulting in prolonged standing, walking, lifting, kneeling, and bending which may be strenuous physical activity
