Description
Position Summary:
The Rulemaking SME is the program's subject-matter expert on regulatory rules, forms, and filing requirements for the platform. You will advise product, data, and engineering teams on regulatory intent, validate that the modernized platform correctly implements the client's rulemaking framework, and serve as the authoritative source on filing and dissemination requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the authoritative subject-matter expert on regulatory rules, forms, and filing requirements
- Advise product and engineering teams on regulatory intent and compliance-driven behavior
- Validate platform requirements and features against regulatory rulemaking
- Interpret new and amended rulemakings and assess their platform impact
- Support requirements definition, acceptance criteria, and traceability to rules
- Collaborate with client subject-matter experts, analysts, and legal counsel
- Review filing validation and dissemination logic for regulatory accuracy

Requirements
Non-Technical Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (2-3 Days) in Reston, VA & client locations in the Washington D.C. area as required.
- Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and self-start.
- Must be adaptable/flexible as priorities shift.
- Must be enthusiastic and have passion for learning and constant improvement.
- Must be open to collaboration, feedback and client asks.
- Must enjoy working with a vibrant team of outgoing personalities.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years in securities regulation, rulemaking, or regulatory compliance
- Deep knowledge of regulatory filings, forms, and filer requirements
- Experience advising technical teams on regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct filing-systems experience
- Familiarity with XBRL and regulatory data taxonomies
- Experience with AI-assisted requirements analysis
Salary Description
$190,000-$200,000 (based on pertinent experience)
