Job Title: Medical Assistant Job Description The Medical Assistant provides safe, efficient patient care in a busy clinical setting, supporting a licensed provider and nurse with both clinical and administrative tasks. This back-office focused role centers on charting patients for a general practice clinic, taking vital signs, rooming patients, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring accurate electronic health record documentation. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and a positive experience for individuals visiting the clinic. Responsibilities

- Provide patient care services under the supervision and direction of a licensed provider and nurse, following established clinical protocols and standards.
- Perform back-office medical assisting duties, including charting patients for a general practice clinic in a clinical setting.
- Take and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, weight, temperature, and other relevant measurements with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Room patients, obtain and document basic patient information, and set up the electronic file for the doctor prior to the provider’s examination.
- Prepare exam rooms before patient visits, ensuring necessary supplies, equipment, and documentation are ready for use.
- Restock and clean exam rooms after each patient visit to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and electronic health records (EHR) to document patient information, procedures, and visit details accurately.
- Support appointment scheduling processes and help coordinate patient flow to maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Assist with basic patient education related to visit procedures, follow-up instructions, and general health information as directed by the provider.
- Apply medical terminology appropriately when documenting and communicating patient information.
- Perform routine tasks and competencies associated with medical technician training, as needed to care for clinic patients.
- Collaborate closely with one primary provider on a daily basis, supporting their patient schedule and care needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Medical Assisting Diploma or equivalent formal training in medical assisting is preferred.
- Completion of training and competencies for medical technician tasks used in caring for clinic patients.
- Experience in urgent care or internal medicine settings is a strong plus.
- Comfort working in a very fast-paced clinic environment with multiple providers and high patient volume.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and clinical staff.

Work Environment This role is based in a large, very fast-paced clinic environment that operates Monday through Friday from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The clinic includes 17 providers across several specializations, offering a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere. The facility features an on-site lab and imaging center, supporting comprehensive patient care. Medical Assistants work closely with one primary provider while also interacting with the broader clinical team. The environment emphasizes teamwork, efficiency, and high-quality patient service. Staff enjoy daily catered lunches from doctors and have opportunities to advance within the organization after approximately one year. The position involves regular use of electronic medical record systems, clinical equipment for vital signs, and standard medical supplies in a professional clinical setting

This is a Contract position based out of THOUSAND OAKS, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
