We are growing our Dallas AV team and are looking for an experienced Audio Visual Technician / Lead AV Technician who is ready to take ownership of installations, troubleshoot complex systems, and help deliver high-quality projects for our customers.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and completion of commercial audiovisual systems. This position works closely with Project Managers, field teams, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and according to Electra Link's quality standards.

Experienced technicians may also serve as the lead technician on assigned projects and coordinate daily field activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Install and complete commercial audiovisual systems and equipment.
- Take ownership of assigned AV installations from mobilization through project completion.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, AV system drawings, signal-flow diagrams, and project documentation.
- Install, terminate, label, dress, and test AV and low-voltage cabling.
- Perform equipment installation, rack build-out, cable lacing, soldering, crimping, and terminations.
- Test completed systems for both engineering specifications and operational functionality.
- Troubleshoot AV equipment, cabling, signal-flow, and system-performance issues.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding project progress, manpower needs, scheduling, materials, and potential issues.
- Serve as an on-site point of contact for customers and other project partners when assigned as the project lead.
- Maintain Electra Link's standards for quality, professionalism, jobsite organization, and customer service.
- Follow all Electra Link and customer safety requirements.
- Assist with training and providing direction to less-experienced technicians when needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 5+ years of commercial audiovisual installation experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial AV systems and installation practices.
- Ability to independently read and implement AV construction drawings and signal-flow diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High standards of workmanship in cabling, equipment installation, lacing, soldering, crimping, and termination.
- Ability to fully test installed systems and identify installation or operational issues.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with project and field teams.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Structured/network cabling experience is a plus.
- AVIXA CTS certification is a plus.
- Experience or manufacturer certifications involving Crestron, Extron, AMX, or Audio DSP systems are highly desirable.
