Documentation Administrator / File Clerk

Location: On-Site - Norwalk, CT Employment Type: Full-Time (5-month contract)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Documentation Administrator / File Clerk to support a small corporate legal team with document management, filing, records maintenance, and administrative support functions. This role is ideal for an organized professional who enjoys working with documentation, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, and maintaining confidential information. Prior legal experience is a plus but not required. Candidates with strong administrative, records management, or document control experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and organize physical and electronic files and records.
- Scan, upload, index, and archive documents within document management systems.
- Ensure documents are accurately filed, labeled, and easily retrievable.
- Assist with records retention and document tracking processes.
- Support the legal team with administrative and clerical tasks.
- Review documents for completeness and accuracy before filing.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and legal information.

Qualifications

- 1+ years of administrative, file clerk, records management, or document control experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience using document management, filing, scanning, or records management software preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior legal or corporate legal department experience is a plus, but not required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Norwalk, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
