Job Summary

The Medical Director serves as the Physician for one or more narcotic treatment programs (NTP) as designated by BayMark and accepted by Physician. This individual provides patient care, medical evaluation, establishes dosing levels, and interacts as necessary with Federal, state, county & other regulatory bodies. The Medical Director trains & manages subordinate physician extenders and provides health care services directly to patients all under the direction and responsibility of the CEO and Medical Director – OTP.

Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for performing professional physician services and for performing required administrative duties.  To ensure all staff practice Universal Precautions and are aware of emergency medical procedures to be followed in case of medical emergencies.  Work is performed under operational supervision.  To assume medical responsibility for the Clinic and to supervise all the medical services rendered to patients in the Medical Director’s absence. To authorize and supervise dispensing of daily narcotic replacement therapy and other medication by medical staff in the Medical Director’s absence.  This may include working with Methadone Detox, Maintenance Program, Intensive Outpatient Program and/or Primary Care.

Minimum Qualifications

- Board Certified/Eligible in Addiction Medicine
- 1-2 years of Addiction Medicine experience
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice medicine as a physician in VT
- Must have a current and valid DEA registration and may not, at any time, have had an application for registration with the DEA denied, have a DEA registration revoked or surrendered a DEA registration for cause
- Must be Medicaid/Medicare eligible
- Must have drug rehabilitation training and knowledge

Salary Range

Salary ranges from $168 to $202.88 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training.
