Supplier Quality Engineer

Supplier Quality Engineer Job Description This Supplier Quality Engineer role supports the Global Quality Excellence – Regulations and Standards function by following established supplier controls processes and ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate. You will focus on supplier communication, supplier qualification, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities, and sub-tier supplier qualification, working within defined company standards and procedures. As a technical specialist, you contribute as an individual contributor on projects, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve quality and regulatory objectives while developing your professional skills and experience. Responsibilities

- Follow established supplier controls processes to ensure all supplier-related documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards.
- Support supplier qualification activities, including initial assessment, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring of suppliers and sub-tier suppliers.
- Create, execute, and maintain PPAP documentation and activities to validate supplier parts and processes in alignment with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular supplier outreach to gather, confirm, and convey information related to quality, documentation, and compliance expectations.
- Create and maintain supplier records in systems such as Windchill and MAP Agile, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data for supplier controls.
- Participate as an active member of project teams, contributing supplier quality expertise and collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Apply technical writing skills to prepare, review, and update quality documentation, procedures, and records related to supplier controls.
- Identify and define problems related to supplier quality or documentation that are not immediately evident and propose minor changes to systems or processes to resolve them.
- Communicate primarily with internal contacts to coordinate supplier-related activities, clarify requirements, and support cross-functional collaboration.
- Adhere to company policies, regulations, and standards while using specialized knowledge and skills in quality engineering and supplier controls.
- Manage assigned tasks and smaller-scope projects with general supervision, ensuring timely completion and alignment with quality objectives.
- Focus on self-development by building broad theoretical job knowledge and strengthening communication, organization, and adaptability skills.

Essential Skills

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Approximately 2+ years of relevant experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a related field, depending on candidate fit.
- Broad theoretical job knowledge in quality engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with supplier communication, including outreach, information gathering, and ongoing coordination.
- Knowledge and practical experience in supplier controls processes and practices.
- Experience creating and executing PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and activities.
- Experience using Windchill for document and record management.
- Experience using MAP Agile or similar systems for managing supplier or quality records.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
