About this role

Findex is looking for an SMSF Accountant to join our Adelaide team. In this role, you'll perform accurate superannuation fund processing for a diverse range of clients, providing accounting and taxation services including financial statements, tax returns, reconciliations and work papers, all completed in line with industry legislation, regulation and Group policy.

Your role, your contribution!

- Process client superannuation funds in a compliant and timely manner, within applicable lodgement deadlines.

- Prepare accurate, on-time reports for managers, including exception reporting of funds.

- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, regulatory returns, business activity statements, instalment activity statements and annual reconciliations for clients, ensuring work is compliant, accurate and within budget.

- Conduct final checks of processed funds in preparation for audit, following Findex best practice.

- Process transactions for trustees, benefit transfers, contributions and benefit payments, including pension calculations.

- Prepare documentation for Account Based Pensions or Transition to Retirement Income Streams, along with associated Transfer Balance Reporting.

- Support process improvement and efficiency by utilising standardised workflows and automation, in line with Group guidelines.

- Build positive relationships with existing clients, adding further value that supports continued growth.

What you’ll bring

- 2+ years' accounting experience, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation standards and financial reporting.

- Degree qualified in Accounting; commenced CA, CPA or equivalent desirable.

- Excellent communicator, able to liaise with clients professionally and ensure excellent service delivery.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

- Adaptable and collaborative, with strong time management across multiple, competing deadlines
