Developer - CGI

Position Summary:

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications and production tools that support CGI, 3D graphics, rendering, digital content workflows, and DevOps practices. The role works closely with technical, creative, and operational teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions that improve visual production processes, automate manual tasks, support the creation, management, and delivery of 3D assets and imagery, and contribute to stable, secure, and efficient build, deployment, and operational processes.

This role is permanent and full-time (35 hours per week) with 2 days in the office (Hull, UK) and 3 working from home.

Responsibilities of a Developer – CGI are :

- Ensure compliance with Trident Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain software applications, tools, and integrations to support CGI, 3D graphics, rendering, and production workflows.
- Collaborate with developers, artists, designers, and production teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Write, test, review, and debug high-quality, maintainable code following industry best practices.
- Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to DevOps activities, including CI/CD and deployment automation.
- Support cloud and production environments by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and improving system reliability.
- Develop and maintain databases, data models, and asset management systems that support digital production workflows.
- Support and optimise rendering pipelines, graphics workflows, and 3D asset processes, while providing technical documentation and user support.

Who are we looking for?

- Bachelor’s degree in ‘Computer Science’ or Related Field, or equivalent on-job experience. (RQF Level 5)
- 3+ years' software development experience, with strong programming skills, DevOps/CI/CD knowledge, and exposure to cloud technologies. Experience in CGI, 3D graphics, rendering, or creative production environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and development methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
- Experience developing software for CGI, 3D graphics, rendering, visualisation, or digital content production environments.
- Understanding of 3D production tools and workflows, including modelling, rendering, asset management, and pipeline optimisation.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or C++ to improve production processes.
- Experience with DevOps, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, deployment automation, and production support.
- Strong technical and communication skills, with experience in front-end development, databases, version control
