## Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. ## Job Summary:

The Lead Coatings Insulation Fireproofing (CIF) Field Engineer will supervise and manage field engineering activities for Coatings, Insulation, and Fireproofing (CIF) scopes within assigned project areas. This role leads multiple CIF Field Engineers, coordinates closely with superintendents, craft professionals, subcontractors, engineering, project controls, turnover teams, and helps ensure CIF work is planned, documented, and executed safely, with quality, and on schedule. The position is responsible for supporting construction readiness, work package development, material coordination, quantity control, quality verification, technical issue resolution, progress reporting, and turnover activities in accordance with project requirements, specifications, codes and quality standards. #LI-ME1

## Major Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise multiple CIF Field Engineers, set priorities, manages resources, and promote consistent use of project procedures, work processes, and field engineering standards.
- Support staffing, training, resource planning, and workload coordination for assigned CIF  field engineering scopes.
- Oversee development of Installation Work Packages (IWPs), short interval planning, workface readiness, sequencing, access, permits, materials, and constraint removal for CIF work activities.
- Coordinate with superintendents, Craft Professionals, subcontractors, engineering, quality, project controls, and other disciplines to resolve field issues, maintain progress, and support project schedules.
- Review and support construction drawings, sketches, field instructions, specifications, installation details, subcontractor submittals, inspection test plans, RFIs, field changes, and related technical documentation within delegated authority.
- Oversee CIF quantity tracking, installed quantity verification, material readiness, progress reporting, quality documentation, NCR resolution, punch closure, and turnover documentation.
- Confirm CIF materials, coating systems, insulation materials, fireproofing materials, and specialty installation tools are available and aligned with construction execution needs.
- Promote and support the Zero Accident Philosophy, safe execution of CIF activities, quality compliance, rework prevention, and timely escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality, cost, or schedule.

## Education and Experience Requirements:

- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and typically 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

## Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Experience leading field engineering teams, setting priorities, developing staff, supporting employee development, and coordinating work across construction, engineering, project controls, quality, startup, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Strong knowledge of coatings, surface preparation, insulation systems, fireproofing systems, jacketing, vapor barriers, personnel protection applications, technical standards, installation requirements, inspection points, and work sequences for large industrial projects.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, isometrics, IWPs, subcontract documents, vendor information, installation standards, inspection requirements, test plans, project procedures, RFIs, NCR’s and field changes.
