Actuarial - Actuarial Analytics

Seeking a nearly or newly qualified actuary to lead the development of Actuarial Analytics.

The Role

Willis Re is investing in the future of analytics, building the next generation of tools and models that support our brokers and clients across the global treaty reinsurance market.

We are looking for a technically minded actuary who enjoys solving problems through coding, automation and data-driven insights. Working across Property, Marine, Specialty, Aviation and Cyber, you will design and deliver analytical solutions that enhance pricing, portfolio management and decision-making.

This is an opportunity to help shape Willis Re's analytical capability, working directly with brokers and stakeholders to build tools that create real business impact.

Key Responsibiliti es

- Develop and maintain pricing, exposure and portfolio analytics tools used across the treaty reinsurance business.
- Build predictive models, automated reporting solutions and analytical frameworks to support brokers and clients.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques where appropriate, ensuring robust validation and governance.
- Work closely with brokers and analytics colleagues to identify opportunities for new tools and process improvements.
- Leverage AI and automation to enhance analytical workflows and drive efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of testing, documentation, version control and model governance.
- Support peer review activities and contribute to the development of junior colleagues.

About You

- Nearly or newly qualified Actuary (FIA, ACAS, FCAS or equivalent).
- Experience within general insurance, reinsurance, specialty insurance or broking analytics.
- Strong programming capability, particularly in Python.
- Experience developing tools, models, reporting solutions or analytical applications used by business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of SQL and experience working with large or complex data sets.
- Understanding of pricing and portfolio analytics, including experience and exposure rating techniques.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- An innovative mindset with an interest in emerging technologies, including Generative AI.

Desirable Experience

- Power BI, Tableau or similar visualisation tools.
- Cloud platforms, APIs or application development frameworks.
- Actuarial modelling platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience within Property, Marine, Specialty, Aviation or Cyber reinsurance.
