Job Description
Our client, an international group operating in gaming technology and marketing, is seeking an Information Systems & Security Officer to join their team in Malta. The role reports to the Senior Technical Compliance Manager and combines hands-on IT support with responsibility for information security policies, controls and certification requirements.
Location : Hybrid - Malta
Responsibilities:
As a IT & Information Security Specialist , your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Set up, configure, maintain and troubleshoot IT infrastructure and equipment, including internet connectivity, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, laptops, monitors, printers, CCTV and access control systems.
- Manage antivirus configuration and other required software, and provide first-line technical support to employees.
- Maintain an accurate IT inventory and access control logs.
- Coordinate with other group companies to implement group IT requirements.
- Maintain ISO 27001 and other relevant industry certifications, and support the acquisition of additional certifications as required.
- Monitor access to sensitive data, maintaining an understanding of employee systems, access rights, data storage and transfers between systems.
- Ensure secure data transfer procedures are in place and carry out periodic checks on access permissions and the handling of sensitive information.
- Conduct information security risk assessments in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Own and implement information security policies covering access control, business continuity, disaster recovery, backups, incident management and change management.
- Test compliance with the information security framework and policies, and recommend improvements.
- Organise information security training for employees.
- Support audits, reviews and related follow-up activities.
- Fulfil designated IT or information security key roles as required.
- Work with the Data Protection Officer to support compliance with regulatory obligations and internal policies.
- Handle other duties relating to IT administration and information security.
Requirements:
- At least two years of experience in information security.
- Auditing experience would be considered an advantage.
- A hands-on approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership.
- A high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Fluency in English.
